that's not a very christian attitude Standee
sorry,getting my threads mixed up
the best team lost but a cracking game as a neutral - thought Manu,Sharp & Briscoe were immense for FC but it's not Dobsons fault he scored, he just played to the whistle as every sportsman should - Dobsons kicking was rubbish by his standards which actually helped Hull

| Quote: Sebasteeno "We need a new front row imo. Apart from Moa playing well and Lynch being average i cant remember anything of note. Pitts, whatever position hes actually playing seems almost invisible and thats not just based on this game.
Only forwards of note where Moa, Manu and Tickle.
Backs wise Martin is poop - should of played Crooks, Turner had a good game as did Sharp, but they let themselves down at the end though that wasnt why we lost, that was the forwards fault and the fact that we are simply not that good a team.'"
I was expecting a lot more from Moa as last time I seen him against Leeds he was outstanding. One big hit on the smallest winger on the park just wasn't enough.

| Think it showed last night we lack bit of punch in the forwards, o carroll did nothing, pitts struggled, lynch was quiet .What i did notice was Kenty ran it in twice from restart think this kid wants it to make and sticks his hand up

Agree with the rest but Dobson is a generally decent player who isn't dirty or a cheater. He didn't throw the forward pass either.
Ganson was embrassing though which is the main issue. Gutted we missed out on two league points.

O Meley is a big miss and has been for a lot of games this season. Kent looks a great prospect to me hope he keeps up the improvement.

| Last night highlighted that we are still a mid-table side in transition, and that the fans and the club had got carried away with recent results.
For the first time this season I have to criticise Gentle's tactics, he clearly went for a system of rotating the forwards in short-stints to combat the hot weather, this wasn't a sucess and it left players like Westerman, Kent, O'Carrol and Aspinwall unable to get in to the game. At times it was hard to work out who was on the pitch and what position they were playing.
Horne for me again offered little in attack, and I cross my fingers and hope that we sign Finch up for next season. We simply cannot have a no6 that just tackles and doesn't take the line on.
I also think attitude again seemed to be a problem, after the Turner try I think the side thought they had the game won, and simply went in to 2nd gear. Not acceptable in a derby game.
All in all it hurts to lose any game to Rovers, and especially so to an awful Ref decision...but fans need to be realistic and realise that we are a mid-table side this season and so are Rovers...and i'd expect we have another couple of years of tense, close derby's where either side can win.

I agree that O'Meley is a big miss, its all well and good having a 'fast' pack, but you still need players to add a bit of impact and biff. When Moa goes off we have a soft pack.

I'm really unconvinced that a mobile, lightweight pack is right for superleague

The tactics were dictated by the lack of a 4th prop which we've known was a problem since before the season started. We have too many back rowers who lack the size and impact to play prop effectively and I hope it's going to be addressed for next season

If our pack consisted of O'Meley and Moa for the impact, and Pitts and Lynch for the minutes/pace I think it would work. A big issue for me is that we have O'Carroll tied to a long deal who doesn't fit in to either bracket, and is injured every other week, he has been a very poor signing IMO.

Definitely not at the beginning of the season.

Gentle brought in Pitts and wanted him to play prop, but surely he is far too small for a prop even if we go with a mobile prop. He's just not built for a prop. Now stick him in the backrow/lock and we have far too many again and that's not even with Manu staying.
Tickle
Ellis
Westy
Whiting
Kent
Pitts
Manu - if he stays
Aspinwall - Can't see them keeping him now.
Unless they bulk Pitts up in the off season.

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club.
Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

| Quote: Mrs Barista "Sort of agree, but if we don't improve on our league finishing position, although we're a much better proposition to watch, it's disappointing. Guess there was some hope that we might have got 6th after our start, but losing to Rovers means we'll have to step up our game to keep up'"
We lost to salford and went 6 games unbeaten so can be done...this season has been better than most expected and 2013 and 2014 is when we will challenge.
