| Quote: Jake the Peg "Anyone know what this season's attendances are compared to those against the same teams last year?'"
Warrington: 12710 (2011: 16121, down 3411)
London 10096 (2011: 11139, down 1043)
Wakefield 11105 (2011: 11032, up 73)
Widnes 10,705 (2011: Using Crusaders as a comparison 10422, up 283)
The Warrington crowd last year was high for several reasons, Wire brought loads as they had the chance of winning the league leaders shield, it had just been announced Agar was leaving, and pass holders could give any unused vouchers to friends. This year the weather was awful.
London was a Sunday night TV game this year in the frost, last year it was in June.
the other two crowds are pretty much what we were getting last season.

I think one of the problems we have is there's small groups who wanna sing but their spread between north/east corner south/east and a handful at back of south stand.
One idea might be what nal and west ham did and made areas singing sections and printed on tickets that their view maybe obstruted by people standing to sing. If you watch west ham the whole bottom tier of the bobby moore end are stood up and no-one moans.
sorry for going on but we could have great atmosphere at home games.
We need our away support at home which is the best in the game by a mile.'"
Personally I don't think it's any coincidence that once 'chav corner' was ended the atmosphere has been poor. I used to go in there and stand and sing, now I sit in the South East corner and the atmosphere is nowhere near as good.
Still probably a price worth paying to sort it I reckon.

I wasn't a regular, I used to swap between there and the South Stand depending on who I went with, but when I was in Chav Corner I didn't really see any bother apart from the cup game against Leeds in 2010 when it did get a bit nasty.

| During the City games the whole of the east stand remains standing for pretty much the full game!

| It was raining heavily last year for the london game but there was an offer on with groupon. Family ticket in the north stand for next to nothing IIRC

| IMO the factors behind the crowds so far this seasonThe economy. People just don't have the disposable income they used to.[/*[*The removal of the voucher exchange scheme.[/*[*A hangover from several seasons of dire performances.[/*[/list
I'm sure things will improve if we do well.

| I don't think you can put it down to Friday or Sunday rugby. It's probably more to do with a hangover from the poor rugby from previous seasons and also a lack of disposable income as much as anything.

| We are still not £24 a game entertainment.
The away prices are terrible
The price and qauality of the "refreshments" are an insult. £7.20 a pint is along the lines with certain bars in Soho (so im told)

While that is a ridiculous price by anyone's standards, are you seriously suggesting that the price of beer in the stands is keeping people away from games?

Where is that being charged?

Personally I would have thought that a regime change would have cancelled this out?

You have got a bit trigger happy there.
Its not £7.20 a pint.
£24 for a top flight sporting event is still CHEAP. For the amount of moaning many on here do about the comparision between RL and soccer, it doesnt seem to bother than many soccer fans that they would pay double that of what it costs to attend a Premier league game.
