Quite right. We had Aspinwall, Martin and Horne all either unable to return, or not worth risking further compounding their injuries (good call when your so far in front)
Not trying to make excuses for the last 15 mins as lets remember, Widnes had 2 players helped off and 1 stretchered off as well so where down to same number of fit bodies as us. At least it gives Gentle a bit of a stick to beat the players with at training and reminds everybody that there is plenty of improving left to do.
As has already been alluded too, i think the 10 min stoppage for the Briscoe injury saw us lose our momentum and possibly our mindset. Add to this a few of our guys left on the pitch had picked up knocks as well (seem to recall Lynch taking a good few mins to run off a foot or ankle in 2nd half) and you can maybe imagine the Cas game was at the back of some players minds already.
That said, we still almost added a couple tries if we just hadn't pushed the final pass when it was't really on so hell, lets just look forward to the next match with an ever increasing amount of 'optimism' (something folks in this part of the world have had precious little of in recent times).
