We defiantly need to be spending the 60k on a prop...

| Quote: Mrs Barista "Look, we've been stuck in the cycle of pre season PR frenzy vs let-down on the pitch for 4 years. I'm pleased the club haven't said daft things about where we'll finish, but I don't see who any subscriber to the "New Dawn" can be happy with the result last night. I don't realistically think we will finish much above where we did last season but I hope we won't go backwards. Last night we lost in a fixture we won last season. Whatever way you look at it, it's disappointing. James Smailes reported that last night had 2011 written all over it. I'm not "getting y", I'm expressing a valid concern. The 2 recognised props point is fair but we can't be using injuries as an excuse when we have an average amount.
Sounds like they're training at 9 this morning, which is good to hear. The Wakefield game should be an interesting one.'"
That is a terrible argument. Going on that logic the only way we can make progress year on year is to steadily increase our wins until we go unbeaten in the 2016 season and then go unbeaten for ever more with every defeat being a big set back.
We played badly and lost, get over it. If we produce a similar performance next week then we might have more of a grounds to complain, but I'm certain we wont.

We were poor against London too and had a poor first half against Wire and got hammered by Rovers. Load of rubbish if you ask me and an embarrassment to the supporters

| Its ok everyone saying it will get better I'm sure it will because I have full confidence in Gentle but there is only so much he can do we don't have the players to get in the top four . It showed last night bit of quality from seymour and Mckinnon made a big difference at times . We need a right centre someone who is a strike player can give the ball too and excite the fans . We need a couple of rough big forwards who will get us dominating matches and too be honest Yeaman and briscoe need to buck up their ideas being poor for me.

I am, but it's justified. I'm in a right mood this morning. Should change my username to Mrs Pissista for the day.

Our pack is good enough when fit, and Gentle needs to have more faith in the youth. Its no good picking them but only bringing them on if we are on easy street. Lynch and O'meley must have been dead on their feet.
We do need a centre, but when we signed him we knew that Martin was just a stop gap until we can get someone for next year. Sharp on the other hand has comprehensively outplayed Briscoe every time I've seen us this year. As for Horne, I'm still not sure about whether he can still do it, but I would see how he goes over the next 12 games or so before making that decision.

Can't agree with any of that. We won the majority of collisions attack and defence, made yards with ease and generally kicked well on the back of it. The forwards did their job just fine, Salford just executed far better than us.
Had we starved them of field position it would have been a different result but shoddy discipline invited them to our line one too many times. The penalties conceded weren't as a result of us struggling to contain Salford either, they were just individual brain farts on the whole.
On a side note, why oh why is Richard Horne STILL allowed to attempt drop goals?

Our pack is not good enough . Another good prop needed ASAP. Lets hope O`Carroll can fill that role.
A long hard 2012 ahead .

Funny how it takes a loss to bring those comments out.
First of all the Rovers game is of no relevance at all. Also we weren't poor against Warrington or London. We looked far from the finished article but certainly not poor.
If rather than losing our own scrum and conceding a try we had kept the ball and got one ourselves it would have been hailed as a good result in tough circumstances. But as we know people are fickle.
We lost a game we should win, we will do it again this year as will every team in the league. Get over it and move on.

Like I say think Gentle will do a good job but end of day we don't have the quality too many ordinary players

| People need to bear in mind that the vast majority of this squad have spent the last few seasons being trained by a coach that nobody rates. I don't care how good a coach Gentle is, it's going to take time to reverse that damage. Last night had '2011 written all over it' because under pressure those players reverted to the bad habits ingrained into them over successive seasons.
I'm as disappointed as anyone but things like this were always going to happen. And anyone who had top 4 aspirations prior to last night was being unrealistic in any case.

The rovers game does matter. We were poor in that game and have continued to be so where as they were average to good and have continued to be so. The Wire game they was much better first half and we was in the second, London we were definately poor but luckily we was playing London so were made to look better and last night was just an embarassment. You all continue to bury your head in the sand but this is a poor poor team with only about three players decent enough to get in side capable of winning SL. The rest are just just poor to average

| I was gutted at the result last night and couldn't believe we'd got beaten by them.
Salford to their credit played a solid but unspectacular style of rugby backed up with a decent kicking game.
We gifted them far too much possession with daft penalties and all that defensive work obviously took its toll. There were also brainfarts at crucial times by certain players which didn't help when in possession but overall I am just putting last night down to a bad day at the office and hopefully a much needed wake up call for the players.
Improvement is there for all to see in our attacking and defensive structures but just not being executed well yet but that will come.
Rome wasn't built in a day and Gentle recognises this I think some fans should too.
It's a clean slate for Hull this season as far as I'm concerned and comparisons to last season are unwarranted and unfair although they could be a mental hangover for some players still.
It's not all doom and gloom we are currently a work in progress and that's how I will view us this season.
