| Can't see it changing and nor should it change.
The Hillsborough disaster alone should prevent this from ever happening.

| The Met in London would not allow standing at the Den again in mine or your lifetime.

The problem there was the overcrowding and the lack of safety procedures, people were penned into enclosures so no escape when a crush began. Nowadays with pitches having no high fencing and with proper stewarding no overcrowding as well things are much safer.
I am lucky enough to be able to stand at the home games with having a seat on the back row, but would love a standing area at the KC as it would certainly improve the atmosphere.

all made possible because of all seater stadia.
A return to standing would be regressive.

| Quote: Raggytash "I'd be overjoyed if it happened. For me, the KC has never generated the same amount of atmosphere with 16k people in it as the Boulevard did with 2k. I miss the 3d stand every game I go to, and the last time I went to Salford, we stood in the shed with the Salford fans just for a bit of atmosphere (albeit on this occasion quite a threatening atmosphere!). I'm sure if we could stand in the KC, all the like minded fans would group together, and we'd finally start to enjoy the benefits of home advantage again! The only issue I'd have is that the view of a RL game is shyt at the ends, and it's unlikely we'd get any terracing on the sides.'"
It used to be brill standing in the South Stand with the Leeds fans at Headingley.

| Not sure I buy into the atmosphere argument, our atmosphere has lacked due to the last few years of dire rugby in my opinion, we rocked the KC when we came back against Saints, the atmosphere was electric and if we can start to put in displays like that I am sure the atmosphere will rock again, seated or not.

So the HJ is a regressive stadium and Saints new one etc.
The fact is some people like to stand and as long as it is policed correctly there should be no problems.

HJ and Saints aren't football grounds, and I think the standing areas are a very bad idea. I was initially against the stadium being all seater (hence my username) but a return to standing is not a good idea in my opinion, there's nothing wrong with being seated and those that really want to stand are a minority I would imagine.

Got to disagree with you about a minority wishing to stand, I would say most clubs would have a majority of fans wishing to stand, that's certainly the case at Headingley. Football fans have had all seater stadia forced onto them and the vast majority hate them. As a poster above said, properly policed standing areas will never be a problem. I've been going to Rugby and football for over 30 years and the only time i've felt unsafe on the terraces was at a semi final at Hillsborough a couple of years before the tragedy, read into that what you like. The biggest problem with all seater stadiums is that everything has to be planned in advance if you want to sit with friends, you can't just get a couple of lads turning up on the day and standing next to you like years gone by on the terraces. Another problem is if you get a total crettin sat next to you, if you're standing you just walk away, when you're allocated a seat you're stuck with them. God forbid you get the most annoying, moaning idiot who doesn't know a thing about the game sat behind you all season as a season ticket holder. I'm certainly glad the Carnegie Stand at Headingley included a standing area and the proposed new South Stand will be all terracing.

| This meeting is about using them odd looking German standing/seats they have over there.
Meaning the KC's capacity will hardly change and shouldn't pose a big problem installing them.
Just the outlay vs the not much to gain £ scenario and of course the outdated Green Guide's policies.
Can't imagine terracing ever been allowed back from a football side of things

Look stupid, but if it brings standing back then I'm all for it.

10603.jpg Is it true that Richard Agar's favorite movie of all time is Groundhog Day or does he just generally like the same boring s**t day after day, season after season?:10603.jpg |

hope your comment about an over reaction is a joke, if not, I personally will never take any of your future comments seriously.
People may disagree with all seater stadiums, but nobody can deny that stadiums are safer places to watch sports than they were 25 years ago. Surely that's a good thing?
