I don't dislike anyone on here. I've only met a handful for a start. icon_wink.gif

Some like Graham Richards seem to have a short fuse but that is their problem.

That's not the point.

The club have rewarded those paying £200+ upfront with a photo opportunity with the players. The same photo opportunity, incidentally, that's been available pretty much on a weekly basis to the general public at the club shop over the last couple of months. Graham Richards feels this is divisive. He is completely entitled to that opinion. When others point out why they believe it's reasonable, he says he'll have to refrain from posting in case he posts what he thinks of people that think it's reasonable. I think this is more a manifestation of :
1)the tedium of the off season and
2) that to bicker with our "family" at this time of year is pretty much compulsory. icon_lol.gif

Thank you for the Lecture Mrs B - but please refer back to page 2 when I pointed out to Chris 28 that I did not have an issue with the Club inviting season pass holders to a Player meeting ( I can buy a pass between now and then if I so wish) but in my opinion and this is a new thing that has come since we left The Boulevard - if you are not able or have not the disire to be a passholder you are deemed by 'fellow' supporters to be not as dedicated Supporter as those that have the precious pass.
I agree that there is a certain tedium in the off season - Thank you Martin Aspinwall for bringing some debate to this Forum - I cant believe how many 'there by the Grace of God go I' people support Hull FC.
As for bickering - well yes this is my point - Most of us would run a mile rather than spent time in each others company apart from on the terraces.

I really don't care about meeting players. What I care about is the lack of recognition for those who for whatever reason can't shell out for a season pass. In my case its not financially viable as I can't make enough games to make it viable. It would have been with the voucher exchange policy.
My kids though who through me pledge their support to the club would love to meet the players. Ok Mrs B we all have the opportunity through the signings at the shops and open training sessions on Thursdays during term time. But because dad didn't get a pass they are excluded. Now who would love this kind of event the most. All you lot who spent £200+ up front or the kids?
Anyway tis the season to be jolly. Roll on February 5th when we can vent our spleens at the ref and the millionaires from Cheshire. At least I have pledged to make that journey to support the boys.

I sympathise, and accept that a pass isn't worth it for you. But the club's in a difficult position too. They have to incentivise passholding, and have removed the voucher scheme. A meet the players event is one way of doing so. The logistics of making an event at the Kingston Suite a free for all are a bit challenging. They do offer the shop signing events and open training. In reality, I'll not get any benefit in all likelihood either, as it sounds like the event is the day before the Bradford game, and I'll not do a 150 mile round trip 2 days in a row and will prioritise going to the match. I feel that the club is making an effort to engage the fans with more frequent events than in previous years. Your viewpoint is different as you put money in but don't see the reward. As already said, that's fair enough, but there are different ways to view this event.

And a Merry Christmas to you too. icon_biggrin.gif

Get a grip FFS
Watch the 6 o'clock news every now and again and get a reality check.
Meet the players? Who gives a feck? In the scheme of things it's hardly worth getting ulcers or heart failure over is it?

It would be nice to meet the players at the end of the season, at the KC - after we'd won something.

When we had meet the players the last few seasons (Exclusive to pass holders) I don't remember this amount of complaining. Look at it from a club perspective, a large amount of people who pay on the day will inevitably miss the odd game, so this may just be an incentive to push a few more people to buy a season pass.
I understand non pass holders who attend all home games do pay more over a season, but a pass holder is probably more valuable to a club as they already have the money in the bank so to speak and can budget accordingly.
If non pass holders really want to go to this event I am sure they have friends who are pass holders who are not going and could quite easily sort something out.

Well aren't you a little ray of sunshine. icon_smile.gif

The handful of people off here that I've actually met in real life I'd happily spend time with on or off the terraces. There are others that I haven't met yet that I'd certainly be interested in meeting given the chance. Maybe you could lay off the sweeping generalisations and accept that not everyone is quite as misanthropic as you appear to be?

I'm not a pass holder and I never have been but I'll probably end up paying more than £225 in matchday entrance fees. I do not have a problem whatsoever with these incentives being given to pass holders. We all have the option to buy a pass and those that do, deserve all the extra bits that they get.

However, I do agree with Graham that "some" fans appear to look down on non pass holder fans and that we are somehow deemed as being not quite as loyal. There are many of us who can't buy a pass or choose not to buy one for a multitude of different reasons.

Whether we choose to buy a pass or not, all fans are just as important to the club.

Well whatever the arguements are, we have sold around 8000 passes at a very difficult economic time for many people I am sure who have struggled to buy them and as such we are way ahead of the record year two seasons ago, so some people must think that there is a benifit to buying them! at the end of the day its just like a loyalty card scheme really the more they give the more they believe will buy tickets. I think its a sign of how important large anmounts of cash coming into the organisation is in the off season for cash flow. I for one respect just as much the fan who gets to the games when they can for whatever reason, or even has to listen at home, we are all part of the fraternity and family of Hull FC, its just marketing, and I guess this years figures prove that perhaps it and the Gentle effect are working!

Absolutely. If I gave the impression I was looking down on non-passholders I apologise - I certainly wasn't
