| Quote: Paul Hamilton "I can't remember where i read it but i'm sure i did about any money made from FC will be re-invested in the facilities'"
YPI is a charity I believe, clubs play rent in order to play there, a board of trustees take the ultimate decisions (with reps on from the member clubs), though there is a management board which handles the day to day running I believe. Any money made from rent and hire gets re-invested into the YPI or is used to meet running costs. So any money generated by FC would go to improving the facilities as the YPI trustees see fit, whether those improvemenst be on the tennis courts, changing rooms, bars, squash courts, or rugby areas etc.
I can't believe the place makes any money at the moment so I am sure they welcome FC's arrival.
It won't be money directly into the pocket of a rugby union club like it was at Brantingham however.

| 10 year rent with regular reviews from both parties
The gym is getting extended into the physio room next door and fully refurbished
New offices will be built next to where the new changing facilities are, and that is already in the process of being sorted.

| Used to play cricket there for Hull YPI in the 80's. It was the best wicket in the City. They used to put silt on it from the Humber as it stopped the pitch breaking up. So good to hear that the picthes there for rugby are good.
Presumably the fact Hull have committed to the site as a training venue means that additional investment in the facilities can be made, which will be good for Hull and also all the other sporting clubs that use the club.
The main thing is the location. Back in the city, closer to the population it will add to the attendances to the development teams and allow more fans to see the players of the future.
On a side note, if the club really wanted to get state of the art facilities, then this is something the club could really look closely with Rovers and City. In theory, nothing stopping all three acquiring some land and building some proper facilities. I'm sure it will never happen, but as Hull & Rovers had been thinking of ways to work together... just an idea

| All is not well at the top at FC. The move away from the CEOs beloved Brantingham was a decision made by Mcrae. It won't be long before slugs interference has no boundaries.

Very poor effort. Must try harder.

it's poor on a few levels
1) it's garbage, FC have been looking to leave Brantingham for some time
2) most people would take McRae's opinion on the suitability of training facilities over that of Rule, so if it was McRae's idea then it's valid
3) it seems our friends from the East, including some who really should know better, have nothing more valuable to do with their time than worry about FC's changing (and improving, it's to be hoped) prospects in Super League from 2012
if the KR fans are worried about FC, then it means FC are doing things right

More than 2 years ago Rule was working on the redevelopment of the Boulevard project for FC's training facilities, to relocate the team from Brantingham. Now you're saying it's all McRae's idea and he's fallen out with Rule about it. What an utter fool you are.

Hull have been looking and talking about YPI for months!
Have you thought about writing for comics in future?

Quite funny from somebody who's team have been like Nomads in their search for training facilities, they seemed to have found their spiritual home on Bogroll Park Saltend(next to the sewage farm) but they were even worked off there.

| barista, its a sign of weakness to resort to insults. The Boulevard project was always a non-starter, absolutely no way were the old FC Board going to invest in such a project when it was always their aim to sell the club. Don't you just love hindsight!
Wilf, the same goes for you as well. The YPI talks began when AP arrived (in conjunction with the Sirius Academy location) and fell to Mcrae to negotiate. The old regime had plans in place to use Brantingham.

Why was a £1m investment from the NHS negotiated and agreed? Why were Hull FC in advanced talks with the council?

Let's hear your explanation of this and the "years of work" behind it, including securing a £1m investment from the NHS if it was "Always a non-starter".

So they had lots of negotiations with the NHS, and Hull University and employed projects managers as part of an elaborate 2 year smokescreen then?
How's life under the tinfoil hat?

| dabhand, I don't dispute the fact Rovers have been nomads, and I have to say I find it amusing (even ironic) that the fall out at Saltend sort of brought Mike Smith to Rovers - the jury for me is still out on that decision. Life's twists and turns never cease to amaze me. Mind you, for all of the moving from pillar to post its great to see the MS3CP has much improved training facilities.
