Long and Gleeson should how been there no excuses. Don't blame Agar would have probably got abused so don't blame him.

Think the players should have been there for me but Agar probably felt he couldn't walk around because of the fear of some idiots giving him abuse which no doubt would have happened.

Exactly. There'd have been all sorts of abuse - something which Agar no doubt didn't want to happen on the players' lap of honour. Good decision by him. Long probably should have been there but he's had plenty of stick about being injured from some too so not really surprised.

What, it bothers you that Sean Long is still being paid by Hull FC but isn't attending the club in any capacity and didn't deem it worth his effort to come and clap the people who have been paying his wages for two years, who didn't feel it worth his time to come and walk alongside Craig Fitzgibbon who is ten times the professional that Long is?

Said it before , when Long was signed he was meant to be some sort of mentor and leader as well as a player. Injured or not he should be with the team , last night and the matches where he's been out , and I think it's demeaned him by him being seen to not give a toss about Hull FC or it's fans.

Nobody knows why Long was missing althought I have great reserves why he wasn't there, Agar has no excuse.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest. Of course he's getting paid he's a contractor. People forget that these days that is basically what players are - contractors. There is little or no 'relationship' any more with the fans. Fans (of all clubs) slag players on an hourly basis through the various media open to them and players are essentially cut off and not really that bothered with fans. They do the community stuff - Longy was brilliant with my lad when he did a summer camp. Chatted to him for ages and made him feel really important. That's part of their deal. But ATEOTD if the club agreed Long didn't have to be there last night then so be it. Blame the club if it bothers you not Long.

The halcyon days of fans carrying players and coaches on their shoulders on the pitch and having a pint in the club bar with them after the game are long gone. It was probably better then than now but that's the way it is. Maybe a sustained period of success would improve things, but as things stand now neither players or fans are exactly falling over each other to be bosom buddies.

Oh I agree, if FC said he wasn't required to attend then fair enough, in fact, maybe AP just told him to get in his car and keep driving when we knew he woudn't play again, I don't think he's been the "positive influcence" that so many expected him to be.

Agar would have just got abuse - right call on his part. Although, he did actually enter the pitch at the end of the game, just didn't do the lap of honour.
