It wasn't funny on the HDM website either.

Advice is what we seek when we already know the answer - but wish we didn't
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full-frontal lobotomy

| Quote: Phil O'Stein "I've reneged on my original scepticism on this signing. I assume he's not on big bucks (maybe even a contract akin to Dowes') so it could well be a shrewd bit of business.
Did he debut under Brian Noble? with talk of Lynch coming too could these be Noble signings?
I also think the lack of comment from O'Carrol on Agar seems odd.'"
Oh great expect a follow up story on the Hull FC site with the first full interview were he states how Agar convinced him too sign

| Pack 2012.
M. O'Meley - Age 30
A. Lynch - Age 31
L. Radford - Age 32
S. Moa - Age 25
E. Carroll - Age 24
J. Bowden - Age 19
If Ogre goes well next year we'll offer him another 2 years if he wants to stay.
Assume Lynch is coming on a 2 year deal.
It'll be Radders last season.
Hopefully we can nail Sam down beyond next year.

| At the end of the day our props will be:
O'Meley
Lynch
Moa
Radford
Then we'll have O'Carroll pushing them and hopefully Bowden on a dual reg to cover injuries.
If O'Carroll has a good run without injuries I fully expect Radford to find himself left out.

on the face of it that looks a good balance of experience and youth, I agree we should get Moa signed, but we have to be realistic, both Moa and O'Meley might want to go back to the NRL if there's some big money kicking around, that leaves us with Lynch (if he signs), Carroll and Bowden for 2013, which would be a concern, hope we're trying to sign Moa now.

| Am I wrong in saying his longterm absence was due to a condition rather than an injury as such.

he had a groin injury that nobody could diagnose/fix, eventually it was found to be his pubic bone causing the issue (if I have remembered the article correctly)

| The 3 year deal is a big risk, but hopefully there are the right sort of clauses regarding appearances/availability for selection etc. Could prove to be a mistake, or a good value signing because we may have got him tied up for 3 years at less than the going rate for his ability because of his injury record. Hope for the latter, fear the former.

Had he signed under Kath and Co I would also fear the former, but with AP rubber stamping things I am more confident in it being the latter, if he plays well for two seasons then he will be a "senior" player going into his third year, so I'd have no problems if his contract was weighted as such, set against performances.
