| Quote: fc baldy "just another bitter ex player who thinks the world revolves round him.'"
This Was the opinion I got from tonights programme.
Like he wasnt satisfied with a great career that took him all over the world and gained him some reasonable respect from his peers. Its still seemed like it wasnt enough.
He was a great player absolutely no doubt but I just have the feeling he knows people look at Ellery Hanley .....and think
" kin ell what a player he was, the best I ever saw."
and when they look at Schoey they think
" whats the Big fat gob shoit said now"
Shame Really as Fans do really want to see players Like Gary Schofield chipping and chasing rather than Some technically efficent defender turtling and twisting for 10 seconds every tackle...

Thackeray was the one he wanted sacking.
Very bitter man, but kind of agreed with him on the style of play changing over here though.

To say he was not as good as him is a little silly imo no matter what you think of him as a man he was a cracking player. He could read an interception from 3 passes away. As for fak he was a 6 i think mainly. Just my opinion of course
Steve Evans had 3 England Caps and 10 GB caps, and played twice against Australia in 1982 whilst at Hull, scoring a try when on the wing at Headingley.

Thacks has admitted it. Maybe he's trying to claim some form of glory?

| The most amusing part of the whole interview for me was GS explaining his win ratio when coach of Huddersfield....was it 2 from 10? He then reeled off Phil Veivers record....John Kear's.....and then Tony Smith's who were all in charge afterwards...
He then had the cheek to say you could argue he was a better coach, because his win ratio was slightly more impressive than the rest!
Couldn't believe what I was hearing! What an ego.

| if you are a big game player you can afford to have an ego as big as a house and GS fits into that bracket imo.
GS was one of the best players to play the game and again imo we were privelaged to have him wear our colours for 4 + years! some say his best years. His try ratio per game throughout his career was outstanding - not just in our colours. The hurt of him leaving still bears significance all these years later, a mark of his esteem to us at that time.
Thought last night he showed to anyone prepared to listen how he thought about his time at our club and the respect he had for being here. I loved the way they used to wait to be invited to change with the first team. What a fantastic bunch of players that team was and yes he was lucky to be here at that time but he added extra greatness to a really great team.
Oh to have that style of rugby these days for us and for GB.
One of the greats.
