| I have watched this guy for quite a while and his last two games have been poor but prior to that he looked very good. Speed power good hands and an ability to back up I reckon he will go good but as usual some on here love to to diss players before they even pull the shirt on.

Well you said he was a waste of a quota spot. Who would you rather have as our full back?

Inglis the best player in the world has been out of form at Souths iirc, yet you wouldn't judge him.'"
Thread drift. This is about Mckinnon . Defensivley , He looks shocking.

The same fans who moaned like hell when the announcement was made that he was leaving? The same fans who had him second to Benji in the player of the season points?
He has had two bad games in the last two weeks, before that he was playing very well.

Can you send me a link please Paul because I spent over an hour trawling their forum looking for positives. I only found 1 person remotely bothered he was leaving, with the vast majority agreeing it was a wise move letting him go. The general consensus is that he has never regained his pace since his knee surgery, his hamstrings are dodgy, and his form is inconsistent.
I don't want to appear uber negative though, I see our competition as far inferior, and there is every chance he could go well here, but it's exasperating how people build players up without any justification. This is usually more damaging in the long run than holding realistic expectations.

You talk of the guy been class act, get real, he is a decent player in a very good league. Take a look at the full backs in the NRL and then tell me where you would rank him.
And as most have said, judge him when he gets here.

Thing is 98% of average NRL players are fooking mustard in Super League.. Hence the NRL being light years ahead of us.
I think this guy will ooze quality!!
But I agree I'll judge him when he's here.

I don't have it. At the time he first signed somone posted a link and there were loads of comments saying things like 'why are we letting him go' 'big mistake' etc. He was also 2nd behind Benji on their player of the season list and a way ahead of 3rd place.
Message boards are fickle, he's had two stinkers so any comments you read right now are bound to be negative, you only have to look on here for that.

Well that to me just makes the West fans fickle, because as Paul said when it was first announced we had signed him they where saying it was a bad move letting him go and that he was there best player other then Marshell. Also its amazing that while he was playing well nothing was said about him but as soon as he has a couple of bad games hes the talk of the forum

You'll probably find they wasn't fussed as they had a ready made replacement in Tim Molzten at the time but he has now deflected to the Dragons, so opinion may of changed.
Fans are fickle you'll have the same people on here saying that Horne was passed it and that we should release him but now are all for him having a new 2 year deal because of an up tunr in form over recent weeks.
I'll be reserving my judgement until he's here then i will lambast him when its proved he's injury prone and past it.

| You cannot doubt his ability and your right he has had a dip in form...
Just hope he settles well and gets on with his game early as possible.
Just hope it doesnt get like Luke Pattern, Class act in the NRL last season, very average in the superleague this season.

| McKinnon is obviously regarded as better than Phelps in the NRL, he's way ahead of Shaun Briscoe, Hohaia wanted to play in the halves and Scott Grix signed a new deal at Hudds. Other than that I can't think of another FB we could have tried to sign, given Minichello and Bowen are now staying in the NRL.

I said i THINK he is a waste of a quota spot. But time will tell. Like others i a am concerned over his recent form and his recent injuries as well as his age. We could well have another Long situation were we see a player spend more time with the physio than with the team.
