we all cling on to positives, in the hope that things are maybe, just maybe on the up, but deep down we knew it was just an unexpected good run, normal services has been resumed.
Wolfie, seriously do you think Agar is the coach to take us to the top 4? your not a daft lad, youv been a fan for a long time, as have most of us on here, and before you say weve seen bad times before, yeah we have, walsh being just 1, difference is we had sweet fa in them times, e squad, e ground, finances next to nowt, now we have everything in place to be a top 2 club, one piece missing, a top coach, im sick of going to watch them now, its a chore rather than an outlet, and i would seriously have to rethink my pass for next season

I am going Sunday and I expect the Quims to do us big time.
with upto four of our players involved in fridays nights cake and Rs party, Longy out you can see it coming.'"
Ian I saw Quins yesterday and they were poor. Their right side is as weak defensively as ours. Clubb is the biggest turnstyle I have ever seen. Pryce is a big pudding and their halves were clueless.
Burnett played 47 mins and is at best a NL player. Yet another one for the future who hasn't kicked on. What a familiar thing that is. I am though certain that they will spoil and niggle and grind us down as they always do.
For me today is totally the last straw. We have a squad that should be in the top 6 easily. We have a squad and coaching set up that constantly talks a good game. But the reality is there for all to see. Not the worst I have ever seen, but hands down the team that has under achieved the most.
We don't produce youngsters, though we talk them up constantly. We dip into the transfer market but its added nothing. We have veterans who constantly get unlucky injuries, our signings for next season are hardly awe inspiring. We are in total decline with a BOD who are further from the fans than ever before. I'm just grateful I didn't splash out on travelling to watch today's game.
If the bod act now we might get something out of the season with a Wembley appearance. If we stick with what we have a poor Leeds side will turn us over in the cup and we will finish 10th at best. Oh and worst of all fail to make a profit.

| I think there is a hysterical reaction going on here, borne out of unrealistic expectations of current squad.
It has never been squad which "should be top 6 easily".
Long, Horne, Fitzgibbon, O'mely and Gleeson are all 'names' but all some way past their best.
To me, the only 'top 6' type players are Yeaman, Manu, Briscoe, Houghton and Tickle.
The likes of Turner, Obst, Whiting Luaki, Moa, Dowes, Radford etc are not really just middle of the road Super League players to be fair.
I am afraid that, for all the hype, McKinnon, Ellis and Heremaia all fall into this category too.
What you saw today was simply two middle-of-the road teams scrap it out in a game which could have gone either way.
Why the hysteria

I understand your assessment JMR
But you look at a side like Huddersfield and for me we have a better team as a whole. The difference in my view is simple the coaching and the ability to make average players perform to the next level. This is the cook of everyone's frustration.

Yet you can go and turn Wire over with the same set of players !!!, probably more incosistant than any other SL team at the moment.

I strongly disagree.
Yes the have a superior coach, but Huddersfield are reaping the benefits of years of savvy recruitment - they don't mistake FC do in investing heavily in 'name' players who are winding down or taking chances on players who have had knee reconstructions etc.
The Brough, Brown, Robinson axis represents a high-quality combination of players in their prime, which is far above anything FC can offer, and this is supplemented by a devastating set of fit, strong forwards who play long minutes and don't miss tackles.
The likes of Mason, Griffin, Crabtree, Faiumu, Fa'alogo, Lunt and O'Donnell would walk into the Hull side.
In the backs, Cudjoe, McGillvray and Lawrence are supremely athletic and lose little, if anything, in comparison to Yeaman and Briscoe, while the whole operation is underpinned by more depth with seasoned-campaigners like Hodgson, Gilmour, Raleigh and Grix providing outstanding value for money on the cap.
Huddersfield are easily the best club in Yorkshire at the moment and, in my book, serious Grand Final contenders - something which Hull FC are a mile off at present (and will be next season).

Thing is we have a pretty good squad, so every now and again everything 'clicks' and we turn in a good performance. Unfortunately we have a coach who can't get the mental side of training right and so we lack the discipline and mental toughness to turn in those performances week in and week out.

JMR
He's giving a biased assessment. If you compare our squad to Hudds they have a clear advantage in the pivots, maybe a slight advantage in the pack (although not much IMO), but the outside backs are pretty even. The difference in squad quality does not explain the large difference in performances IMO.

I simply call it as I see it - and don't love Rovers.
There is no way Hull's squad (or Rovers') is as good as Huddersfield's - it's not even close!
And, the way the recruitment is shaping up for next year, that won't change.
Sorry.

Summed up perfectly for me we simply are not ruthless enough in both attack and defence. Until we get rid of that soft underbelly disappointing results will be the norm and not the exception.

Think you're spot on with that, too many people think Hudds are overperforming just because they used to be rubbish.
I listened to a few calls into RH after the game yasterday and the general concensus was the coach was rubbish and any other coach would be pushing the team for honors. I'm not sure where this idea that on paper Fc have a championship contending side comes from. Bottom line is FC have probably the worst half back pairing(s) in SL and by the looks of it are planning on the same next year. Long, great player but too injury prone, no other 7 at the club. Horne's best years are behind him. Obst is a cracking little 9 but not a half and yet you've signed another 9 from oz.
IF Agar is in charge of recruitment then he's rubbish, if not then I fail to see how its his fault.
