Quote: Kosh "I've not suggested Ganson is a cheat, and technically we were robbed as the penalty that earned a draw for Saints should never have been given. Plenty of mistakes of our own contributed to us being in the position to [ibe[/i robbed though I agree.

As for the pass I'll look again later but I didn't see anything wrong with it first time or on the replays, and it wasn't mentioned by anyone on the SKY team that I recall. I haven't seen the first half yet (working today) so can't comment on the other tries.'"

It was more a general observation, not your comments. Like I said on another thread, Ganson would have given a penalty for offside to give St Helens a draw anyway.

If we start relying on the Sky team to define forward passes, we might as well give up. I actually rewound it and had another look, as I found it amazing nobody picked up on it.

Quote: Dave K. "Also the Jamie Foster knock on.

Whiting got the ball back in goal, drop out given.

Got decisions wrong for both teams, but forward passes are hard to judge, the knock on decisions for Sharp and Foster were obvious and no excuse for missing them, Ref, touch judges and VR.'"

The Foster decision I'm not sure about TBH. He propels it forward onto Horne but at no time does the ball leave his hand. It doesn't come loose until Horne pushes it the other way. I can see why the decision was given the way it was.

Whiting grounded the ball while collecting it. Would have been enough to give a try so no problem with that one either.

The killer was the Washbrook penalty. Never a pen in a million years.

Quote: hullbg "All sounds very bitter to me. Instead of looking at why we collapsed we are trying to pin it on one or two refs decisions.'"

We made far too many mistakes, especially among the back three. We shouldn't have been just two points ahead at that stage of the game. No argument. Doesn't change the fact that the penalty that levelled the scores wasn't a penalty.

He grounded the ball, and even if it was the wrong decision, Briscoe had a foot on the line before the turnaround. Swings and roundabouts.

There were wrong decisions for both sides that changed the game.

Then surely anyone who collects the ball in goal with the ball in contact with the turf shall be deemed to have grounded it and not be allowed to return it. This happens every game a some point and is never ruled as being grounded.

Said it before the game, how he can persistently ref Saints games is beyond me.
Saying that, to lose our 18 point lead was poor and we should have never been in that situation in the first place.'"

Been asking myself that question for ages m8.

How can a known St Helens born ref who is known To be a supporter of St Helen's ref there games is beyond me.

He had his whole upper body on it at one point IIRC. I'll be watching the game back again later and may change my mind, but I thought he'd grounded it watching first time at full speed and when they showed the replay.

When collecting it, Whiting applied downward pressure to the ball, before moving onwards and crossing his own line and being tackled. Right decision IMO.

Swings and roundabouts, like you say, but he never stopped IMO and should not have been a drop out.

I want to register my disgust at Hull not seeing off this p!ss poor St Helens team. Blaming Ganson is cheap

18-0 up and still didn't win? Pathetic.

Saints are not the force they were and were there for the taking, and the Hull flops failed to do the business.

But the constalation is Wire are still top, looking down at the rest.

As far as I know Silverwoods kids have Leeds season ticketswhich would lead you to believe he is a Leeds fan. Bentham comes from Winwick, therefore Warrington.

Saints got penalised for forward passes, some of which weren't; the Eastmond one was. Hull scored off the last one. On that basis we were robbed.

Either way, I'm very pleased that a team consisting of first team forwards and second rowers (one playing as SO) accompanied by a team of U20s managed a draw. At full strength we should take some beating....
