In all fairness to Whelam I have been a big critic of him and he is having a good season, but let's be honest he's not fit to lace either Yeaman or Gleeson's boots.

On current form the two england centres would be Welham and Yeaman

I have always liked Welham he still has some development however he is still young and I believe he is capable of International honours at some point in his career. Good to see any of our local lads doing well.

Yeah you're probably right. Like I said I have always been very critical of Whelam but he is making me eat humble pie this year, certainly knows where the line is. Still drops off a few too many tackles for me and lacks a bit of pace to be considered world class.

Head to head Whelam v Yeaman (albeit not up to date). You can probably deduce from that that Whelam works a little harder but Yeaman is more of a handful for defences. Also backs up my point about Whelam's tackling.

He won't get anywhere near international standard until he stops averaging 3 missed tackles per game.
He's nowhere near as good as Yeaman or Gleeson, and imo never will be.

Welham scored a good try on Friday but struggled on a few occasions to hold a 50% fit Gleeson.

Yeah because he outstripped him all those times. The only 3 times they clashed directly -

Welham put him on his backside

Welham was one on one with Long for his try, HTH. And the only time I remember either of Welham or Gleeson on their backside was when Welham tried to put a shot on Tickle, and failed miserably.
