I do disagree, yes.

I am not condoning what Ben Cockayne did that night in any way...he was lucky to escape prison, but he isn't the first RL player to 'lose it' on a drunken night out (see Gareth Raynor, Chev Walker, Ryan Bailey, Martin Aspinwall, Stuart Reardon, Leaon Pryce, Chris Bridge etc, etc, etc...and countless others over the years both here and in Australia).

On the other hand, as far as I am aware, Ben Cockayne (or any other Super League player) have never got caught up in situations with the wrong type of people which has resulted in blackmail, death threats and extensive police protection for both them and their family!...

...and that's before we mention excessive drinking, betting scandals and the fact that Gleeson has been released early by his last three clubs!

But, he's a good player, and that's all that counts...apparently!

From the today's HDM interview combined with what I've heard from reliable sources, I think it's fairly obvious to conclude that Gleeson's problems transcend those normally associated with a professional sportsman.

I don't know how he can play with such external pressures hanging over him - I just hope that Hull FC know what they are doing.

The contents of the various articles are in the public domain, it seems Gleeson has been involved in some unsavoury things, why else would he need Police protection, and have been sacked by 3 previous clubs?

Exactly, cant see the problem with discussing it, drink driving ban, betting on his own side to lose ban, all in the public domain, the bloke makes Tansey look like a choir boy.
