| Would you like to see him in a pair of shades, thinking he's cool, (not) like the t0sspot in East Hull.
He's a rugby league coach for fooks sake and I'm sure he has at least one shower a day, , like the rest of us.

| I stopped going to games a while ago and get my rugby fix by watching the nrl. I have supported hull fc for a long long time and I thought that it was in my blood, but when they get beat it does not hurt like it used to. I honestly do not see myself going on a regular basis again. If we get a good coach and it starts to be entertaining on the pitch I may change my mind but at the moment I do not see the point in paying my entrance fee (better things to do with my money). Its not that I can go to see hull fc or I can do this that or the other money is not the problem I just do enjoy whats been served up.
I suppose I am just a fair weather supporter.

| Quote: jampot "What is Agars salary compared to other coaches.'"
I don't think it's fair to put exact figures on an internet forum but, for the sake of comparison, i understand noble was earning nearly double what agar earns when he went to wigan. now they have michael mcguire it would be safe to assume he earns at least double what agars earns
but what i don't understand is this... If we assume agar earns 50-100k pa then why are the board so stingy that they won't pay somewhere in the region of 150k or even 200k for a top class coach. It doesn't take a genius to realise that the extra expense on quality will reap rewards in the short-medium term
weird

| Quote: Rock God X "It's this assumption that bothers me. I'm sure things [iwill[/i pick up from where they are now. Eventually. But when that happens, we'll still be an average, mid-table side. It's not [ijust[/i the fact that we're currently all but bottom of the competition that's bothering most people, it's the interminable mediocrity we seem destined to endure when that situation eventually changes.
Radford was in the paper the other day saying 'we can still make the top 6'. Well, so what if we do? That's no improvement on last year and, for a club like ours, shouldn't be seen as the pinnacle of achievement that it's touted as. Rule and his staff will probably try to convince us that sixth is a brilliant return given our appalling start, all the while ignoring the reasons for our appalling start.'"
While it shouldn't be the pinnacle, realistically top 6 isn't bad considering the challenges that Hull face. On the one hand is the salary cap, which is a leveller and means there are fewer easy games. Then, on the other, the almost perpetually powerful duo of Leeds and Wigan are always going to be hard to match. And while Hull are run for financial stability and the likes of Saints and Wire are run for glory, they too can invest in better support and development. FC could maybe do with a dose of ambition at the top, but without an injection of cash to underwrite it, there is risk.
As you point out, falling well short of even that fairly limited ambition, as they seem to be at the moment, carries risk too. I can imagine your board changing the coach, but not their fundamental approach and strategy.

But they [ishouldn't[/i be hard to match. And sixth [ishouldn't[/i be viewed as a good season. Not for a club with the fan base, merchandising revenues, sponsorship and salary cap space that Hull have. We have exactly the same amount of money to spend on players that Leeds, Wigan, Saints and Wire have.
I could understand this viewpoint if we were still at the Boulevard getting average gates of 7,000 and selling a thousand replica shirts a season. But we're not. Off the field, we're pretty big time.
Quote: Mild Rover " And while Hull are run for financial stability and the likes of Saints and Wire are run for glory, they too can invest in better support and development. FC could maybe do with a dose of ambition at the top, but without an injection of cash to underwrite it, there is risk.'"
As I said, we have the cash. We just use it really badly. Unless you're suggesting that spending, say, an extra £100,000 a season on a better coach would cause us to go into financial meltdown. We both know that a sniff of success would bring an increase in gates that would soon wipe that £100,000 off the balance sheet.
Quote: Mild Rover "As you point out, falling well short of even that fairly limited ambition, as they seem to be at the moment, carries risk too. I can imagine your board changing the coach, but not their fundamental approach and strategy.'"
They don't need to change their fundamental strategy, merely employ a top coach and let him do his job.

The cash you are spending on Morgan, you are mid table at best, yet still no questions asked of him and his ability to take you on to the next level.
Can he honestly stay employed just off beating us?
