| He's also a pioneer of coaching techniques.
He'll still be studying rl, he adopts some tactics in ru.
But like Paul says we can't afford him.

| Imo Edwards has too much of an ego for our club, it's obvious we don't employ people with the ability to make decisions of their own without interference from elsewhere.

| Would be an exciting and inspired signing IMO. Might fall flat on its @rse but would certainly cause a stir and some interest. As already said, though, far too expensive for league. Even if he came back, couldn't see it for anyone but Wigan.

| he is a true rugby league great and was a natural leader and has coaching experience at top level in union. We could do much worse. His experience of both codes would make for an excellent coach imo

Your right about the ego, and also whoever said we cant afford him. Dont see where people get that he is too inexpierenced from RL is in his blood and wether it is union or not, he is currently coaching at the top level

| saying he would make a good coach in s.l. is guesswork, not saying he would'nt but, it would be a gamble bringing in anyone who has'nt succesfully coached at the top of our game (super league or nrl), we are not in a position to gamble, we need a proven coach.

| As a 'proven' coach only Nobles available.
If you want to go to oz then your looking at assistants.

He is inexperienced as a RL coach, because he has not coached RL. Just because he played the game does not make him an experienced RL coach. I think he may well make a fine RL coach but do we really want to give a 3rd inexperienced coach a go at ruining our club??
Why not instead try something really crazy and off the wall and bring in somebody who has vast experience in coaching RL at the highest levels.
@Sheldon mot people are available at a price, we have deemed fit to spend money on players this season only to play them out of position, why can't we go out and spend money on a coach with experience to turn this whole sorry mess around. At the end of the day a successful coach would recoup the money spent on them very quickly.

| To play league all your life and then carve out a successful career as a coach in union is almost more of an achievement than doing it in your native sport. He's obviously a great thinker and innovator and I think he'd be a a vast improvement on daft lad. That said it would still be a risk that we shouldn't be taking, and given he's coach of wasps and got a contract with Wales there's no way we could afford him.

| Who do you want to throw money at?
Have a look at some of the top coaches reported earnings in the NRL.

What's that got to do with someone suggesting that we should be poaching Brown from Huddersfield due to our superior financial clout? It's laughable that we could take him off them due to being willing/ able to pay more.

Looking like he's leaving WRU, they suspended him before the France game and he wasn't involved in their preparation, which is probably why the OP asked the question.
FWIW, I think he would be a great RL coach. He has enough on field experience in the game, and is clearly a talented and innovative coach from his time in Union.
