| Quote: knocker norton "He played left wing against Hull last year at the Stoop.
I do remember him giving James Haynes a hard time at Craven Park a couple of years ago on Sky Sports when Quins thumped Rovers. Sharp scored and I am sure Haynes played right wing?
Maybe a switch would benefit him.'"
There you go i have sorted the problem for Agar, Sharp it would appear by our memories is more comfortable on the left wing. I wonder if it is something that Agar has even discussed with the player?

somehow i believe the young international star winger in black and white would get first choice if it were a choice somehow

Its not a choice though is it. It is a case of trying to find where players are more comfortable for the betterment of the team.
Briscoe is outstanding and looks as comfortable on either flank. Sharp may feel more comfortable on the left.
In which case what would you do as a coach?

A good coach would pick the right balance for the TEAM, even if it didn't suit the individual. It's what Management/Coaching is all about.

your not wrong Briscoe is very comfortable on both flanks however his choice is where he is , sharp on the other hand was brought in to play exactly where he is also so its a non argument really.
the lad made a mistake or two but overall is playing very well indeed and will learn from his errors...
if i were the coach i would leave it as it is TBH

apart from two mistakes he was spot on on Sunday and worked very hard indeed, he will learn from it
Personally i thought the balance, the plays and the execution of those plays was spot on at wigan so I think the coach got it correct !!! hence the score line

I accept that, some players can still fulfill a role adequately even if it doesnt suit them or they dont feel comfortable in it. However some players cant, at which point the balance of the team clearly isnt the correct one.

Indeed, but it is the job of the coach to select the players and the positions and the positions in which they play, not the players themselves. It's like the situation with Fitz, he's playing at 13 as a prop and keeping Westerman out of the position that we will need him to play when Fitz has gone.

| Westerman is progressing well as he settles into life at the club and his on field is also progressing, Fitz is runnig the show for the club and is an exemplary captain playing the position that fits him , westerman has a long contract to spend looking at two backsides when fitz goes home or joins the coaching staff
however no plyer chooses where they play , thats the twosomes choice

Yet we have lost 4 out of the first 5 games and Agar/Fitz still insist on playing a prop at 13 like he/they knows best
Hopefully our new coach will want to play Fitz at prop, and Westy at 13

| It looks like we've got another blacklock on the wing... Great going forward but spends more time running back from the other side of the field than defending... Having said that he can actually tackle but just needs to trust whiting and keep himself in his position. I think he's going to be a great signing for us

| I'm sure Sharp will learn from his mistakes and too be honest I think he has far more to offer than Craig Hall, and will play on a far more regular basis than if we kept Calderwood.
Wouldn't mind seeing Sharp on the left wing but the Briscoe and Yeaman partnership (remember Leeds away last year) looks quite potent at times (when Yeaman is in the mood anyway).

| Don't forget he has gone from one useless coach to another-McDermott had him playing as a prop at times going forward at Quins-scoot after scoot or taking it one out- Defence was never considered !
