a) hasn't played for ages
b) seems to have laser guided accuracy to their winger
c) as ou put it, has been like that for 5 years
d) there are others in the team who can also kick it long

I think there's actually a simple answer: because the 2 blokes before him did exactly the same thing, and he was there watching.

By any chance, did he happen to line up slightly to their left of the sticks?

I thought Crabtree had a great game today when he knocked some of your players over it really picked the Giants up. the one where he left Radford seeing stars was a beauty

Yep, I thought he, and your kicking game vs ours (which was non-existent) were the difference. Even for the opposition he's great to watch when he's in that sort of mood.

He's a fantastic forward who gives his whole week in week out. What annoys me is that we seemed to be picking him out with the kick offs.

Which sums us up perfectly at present.
If Horne and Obst can get a run of games under their belts, then the "direction" will come....
Mind you,that's a moderately-sized "If"

| Danny Brough's crossfield kicking was a lesson for us to learn from!

| we're just not clinical enough in attack, some of the ovelrlap situations today (and most recent games) have been wasted by the wrong option, or dropping the ball (sharps try against leeds being the exception so far this seaon). points in attack has been the issue for over 3 seasons now. most teams know if they score over 20 points in a game they will most likely beat us

| Quote: Mrs Barista "I'll start with a plea to not make this about Agar. Just this one thread.
Horrendous start and looked like Danny Brough was going to rip us a new one at first. Our rubbish discipline just piggy-backed them up the field. However, we stuck with it and I thought Lauaki's first spell was top notch and he made a huge impact on the game.
Other positives for me were the return of Horne, who, apart from his kicking game (of which more later), looked like a big step up from Turner at 6. Towering effort from Fitz I thought too. And better use of Manu from the bench. Obst brought something to the party today too, in fact, kicking apart, I thought we matched them in the halves and that had been my major concern before the game. We need more minutes from Sam, without a doubt, as he looks a threat every time he gets the ball.
I thought the differences between the 2 sides were Crabtree, who I thought was great today and played a lot of minutes, and the kicking game. We kicked straight to the fullback or winger on their 20 for the vast majority of last tackle plays, whereas they forced at least 3 drop outs, created 3 tries and generally caused us to play deep in our own half at worst. I know Brough is probably the best executor of long kicks in the competition but it was a huge gap today and something we desperately need to work on.
But after all that, at least an improvement vs last week. I thought we were still very much in it at 14-10 tbh and with a couple of individual errors ironed out could have won the game. But we didn't. Must win next week. I'd be happy with this 17 on Friday.'"
Thanks for typing that - saved me doing it. Effort was there today, and a bit more "smartness" and better prop rotation might have got us something.
Oh and how much better do we look when playing off the cuff and forgetting the structure of the "gameplan"?

Considering the lay off I thought he did ok (kicking apart) paticually liked him putting a big shot on G Horne on our line causing him to lose the ball!

| The biggest difference Horney made for me today, apart from his poor kicking was that he was pushing through looking for the offload at least 2 plays every set, giving the ball carrier more options when taking a drive. We won't come up against many better packs than Hudds today, so if Horney can stay fit this could be a big difference for the rest of the season.
