Even when we had the ball he wasn't calling the plays from tackle 3 onwards which should be just a given for a number 7. I'm not even talking about "attack" as such but controlling the sets and structure of those exit sets you mention. Standing too shallow on the 5th tackle so he is under pressure for the kick etc. Yes defence was shocking but this thread is about Long. He did some things well but he needs to be setting the tone and making sure those sets run like clockwork.

I thought he was one of the worst tbh.

I think the best you can say about turner is that he ran hard and enthusiastically when the ball was passed to him 'out the back' early doors. One good pass for a try but he doesn't look like a threat to me, we should be a top rank club and our half backs should reflect this; he doesn't fit the bill. Did we have the most ineffective pairing of the weekend?

For me Turner is the epitome of all that is wrong at Hull Fc: He's stereotypical, almost cardboard-esk, he has no natural flair or instinct and it certainly showed today.
He works well in a set move that comes off (a bit like Yeaman) if it doesn't come off, he's lost.
We desperately need more playmakers in the side, there are plenty of runners, they just need a lot more direction.

we need to be more well drilled wether players are out or not, is it jusst me or if other teams have pivot players injured they still seem to play in the same why and style, look at huddersfield lost a major attacking player in hodgson and replace him with a player in grix who isnt the greatest player is he then they also lose robinson to injury but they still play some great attacking rugby and look well drilled where as we look completly lost

Half back's weren't why we didn't win, our poor discipline was and defence was.

They brought Smith back from loan last year to beat Warrington. Hadn't trained with them all year and came in with a MOM performance IIRC.
