Nothing i would like to see more than us up there challanging the top 3/4 but i cannot see with the current squad and Agar in charge what he is going to do differently to improve on last years 6th spot and a negative points difference, like most on here i agree we desperatly need 2/3 new faces. Diskin would have been an ideal signing for us, but it looks like he is going to the Bulls, wether we were in for him, no one will know. If i come across as negative it is only out of frustration.

I don't know what they are going to do different, none of us do. I would think that maybe getting more games from the halves and having cover will be a big step in the right direction. Playing Berro at centre will help us from an attack and defenisve perspective. Not having as many new faces to integrate into the squad might also help and maybe a different pack set up, ie a proper looseforward might also help.

This year is a much tougher one for RA as last season he only had to better finishing 12th, this season he has to better finishing 6th and without any marquee players coming in. We will see what he is made of this season.

Rovelli would be a terrible signing IMO, and if we indeed pay 150k for Westerman I would be disappointed. Would rather give whiting a go instead of us never at least trying what all the fans think would work.

I think to get Rovelli would be good as he is very experienced without being too old and will provide us with exactly what we need ie a half back covering in the halves..

With regards Westerman, he's an excellent player and prospect possible future England 13 and we are actively trying to sign him now!! He's better than Whiting IMO!!

Should we sign Westerman, I think we'll see Washy spelling Houghton for the hooking role. We still need a backup half back and a prop.

What about long then? We need long to give us direction however he probably put in less personal performances then horne did last year. Does that not make him a weak link?

for me the weak link is tansey unless he can cut out his crazy mistakes. i hope horne can regain some form in 2011 and maybe go out with a bang

I'm a Whiting fan and I've wanted to see him at 13 for some time now , no problem with Westerman as a player though. Regardless of that it does beg the question why we'd extend Whiting's and Washbrook's contracts only to spend £175K or some such figure to effectively replace one or both of them when we really need a half back?
