| Quote: Mrs Barista "We'll be renewing all 4 passes. Missed 2 this season through holidays, but a pass offers great value vs paying on the day IMO. Kids one is a no-brainer. Will be interesting to see whether the club is concerned that the hideous end to the season might impact the fans' appetite for the club in those who are more "floating voters" so to speak, and recognise that some action may be needed to keep hold of them.'"
I've just posted on the Agar debate thread that I won't be renewing my pass next year. We save what amounts to 3 games by getting a pass which IMO only represents good value if the team offer value on the pitch. Based on what I've seen this year I'm going to keep the cash in my pocket and wait and see what we perform like, if we play as we all hope then I'll glady take the hit and pay for the additional 3 games (either that or watch 3 home games on Sky) at the end of the day I'm not gambling £185+ on us playing like we have for the last three years again. I completley agree though that for what they cost the kid's passes are a no brainer

| i watched most games in the 60s and 70s,they didnt always put the effort in.there has been some displays this season where the effort hasnt been there,i will agree, but i dont think you can say that about the last games.unlucky last week with 12 men with total effort.last night i dont think the effort was as good as last week, but the main problem last night was as as been all season the inability to score points.we do lucky poor with ball in hand.you always know in any paasing move we do someone will either make an awful pass or the ball will go down.its very laboured at times.

But they comes a point when people just dont buy the spin anymore. They lost me as a passholder two seasons ago and now im thinking of knocking more games on the head with looking at a 25 quid entry fee (Thats a tenner more then Wigan). I love the club too much to stop fully going but the amount of games Ive slashed down to is unforgivable considering I was a 20 plus games supporter not so long back.
I dont think pass sales will be down gone are the days the faithful dictated what happened at the club. We are happy to just sit there and accept mediocrity.

Fair enough. 3 free games, plus the CC game, plus halfprice at the Magic weekend, plus the players BBQ event, means that we feel we get value for it. Personally I prefer the big one-off outlay after Christmas than shelling out every other week, but I understand completely that some like to pick and choose, particularly with holidays etc. I'm also hoping we get a decision on alcohol in the stands before season passes go on sale so I can move if it's re-introduced.

Don't include me in your we. I don't accept mediocrity but I know without my support and those like me my club is finished. I don't want that so I support it through thick and thin.

I completely agree which is why we've had passes for the last 8 years. To be honest I forgot about the CC game and we've not taken advantage of the MM or BBQ vouchers.
I personally just feel that this is my year to make a stand, as I said on the other thread I don't want the club to be worse off in fact I'd rather a few thousand fans followed the lead and didn't get the passes but ended up going anyway because the rugby is to good to miss. That way the club get the warning but end up being better off due to the extra being paid in walk up's (everyone is a winner). The club gets a fright and realise the can't take the pee and we get great rugby to watch . In an ideal world obviously.

I am and will.
Boards realise this and will make changes if they fear losing money, especially a profit making one.

Those who follow the path of the righteous:
shall have their reward.: |
|
| Not being able to go all the home games we do not buy Season Tickets. But from talking to friends and relatives, it seems a lot of people receive the Season ticket and/or shirt for a Christmas present.
The last two seasons have sold a lot of tickets with the signing of big name players. (the Crocker fiasco didn't really come to light until after most Season Tickets were bought) So as Mrs B. says (third time I'm agreeing with her in the space of a couple of weeks!!) the board need to come up with something/body to grab the imagination.
The only way things will improve, is for the board to act on their sound financial state and invest in either a Coach with more experience and ideas or players that can really lead on the pitch (like Richard Swain did)
P.S. Sean Long's autobiography is out in paperback now, updated since the hardback edition.

If it wasn't for the current board we would already be history.

cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.
Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.
I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

| I personally don't have a season pass due to possible work commitments which may make it impossible to get to certain games. Having said that, I've only missed 2 home games in the last 4 years, and for one of those I was out of the country. So it would have in my favour to buy one, but he ho.
I reckon season pass sales will still be around the same level as last year (9000 was it?) may even go up slightly. But I do feel people's patience is starting to wear a little thin. I know this is in the immediate aftermath of last night's dissappointment, but most supporters recognise that what we have at the moment (in terms of playing strength and the coaching set-up) is basically what we will go into next season with.
Unlike the last couple of years, it looks highly probable that there will be no new headline signing to trumpet and no radical change to the make-up of the squad. Couple this with the rather disappointing end to the current campaign (2 wins from the last 6 games) and its understandable that at the moment many on here are a little cool about next season's prospects.
Come next February and I'm sure most of us will be refreshed and raring to go once more (passholders or otherwise). But I do feel that without any obvious marketing ploy to energise the faithful, the club will be relying/hoping on the fans sense of loyalty to ensure we remain one of the best supported clubs in British RL.
We've ended the year with only 2 wins from the last 6 games, one of which came courtesy of an 80th minute penalty, and I did get a feeling when walking out of South stand last night that a layer of patience has been stripped away in recent weeks. I still think we will be one of the best supported sides in the game in 2011, but also get the feeling that for some fans they are approaching a crossroads of sorts. More of the same served up in 2011 (in terms of results, performances and league/cup position) will only serve to test some peoples patience to breaking point.
