It really does baffle me how some of you can't see this. You dont seem to grasp the SIMPLE FACT that a team is weakened when its KEY PLAYERS get injured. Its not rocket science..but just for you,,,I'll simplify it.
Ready?
Here goes.......
Try to immagine a gladiator going into the arena armed with a handbag and some rude words to shout....Got that image?
OK...thats basicaly what we're dealing with. His main stabbing weapons are missing...but if he hits hard enough with his handbag (maybe inserts a brick or two) and doesnt have a sore throat...he might get lucky.
See.....its easy......No Team......slim chance......please try to let that sink in eh?
All very good. How do you explaing the hammering at the DW earlier in the season with a full strength team?

The hammering was by the far better team, the best team in the comp by far.

Yet there are teams who compete with them.
And his post was stating things would be different if we'd had teh players in last night who were in teh previous match

Im not so sure hull would have won but with longy, ogre and fitz on the pitch would have been far closer, and if we had them back against rovers hull would have put alot more past the dobbins. leeds were the same had major injuries and struggled there way through the first half of the season. we have no strength in depth witch is why we struggle when we have a few injuries. if hull had 2 quality half backs hull would be a very good team, but unfortunately we have to grind wins due to the lack of leardership and control on the pitch ( part from when longy is on we atleast have a bit of organisation).

not a case of believing pal, just plain facts you cant even see that hull have no quality halfback leadership on the pitch hense the 5 drives all the time and the scrappy games. when longy actually plays hull look a far better side just his leader ship alone and as for fitz and ogre not playing makes a massive difference. you imagine lulu and tomkins as hull partnership, do you still think we would be as poor?

| im not sure if i should contribute to this thread but im going to try and expect to be shot down too like the original poster did. (although ive not read all the replys).
For me last night, i dont think we should have been trailing by the scorline we was at half time, i really dont think they were that much better than us. Obviously they were better and the small things they did right paid off. Especially in the first half i dont think people on here can fault commitment or effort. Sometimes the better team wins, and the personell they had on the pitch i think the result was probably right. If a few things came off for us in the first half we could have easilly gone in at half time 12-6 or 18-12 or so on.
Now the first half of the second half id probbalby say the same. A few individual errors cost us again and wigan took advantage, which is probably what cost us in the first half too. at the end of the game was i dissapointed? yes, did our team try? for me for 80% of the game again probably yes.
No way do i think we are good enough this season and im still unsure if im an agar follower or an agar out. Am i happy being 4th at this stage of the season? yes! alot of fans thought rovers over achieved last season and i think at times this season we probably have too.
Its not the end of the world losing against wigan, and things can get better. will they? im not so sure. But for 1 thing, i wont cheer when hall catches a ball sarcastically, i will try to get behind my team. We can do better and hopefully will.

| People are reading too much into this defeat, we were on a hiding to nothing last night and i for one am not really surprised, yeah i thought we would at least register some points but wigan were really excellent in defence, hats off to them, they will win the league but next week will be different again against a team that isn't in the form wigan are in plus we have influencial players coming back. I am confident we will get back on the horse and put the wigan game behind us.

your basing it on one game when both teams where poor, rovers were poor the other week and hull were better, like i said hull wud have put more points on the table will longy fitz and ogre basing on the way hull played that week. not to mention hull look better when longy is on the field organising

If your team played with the same enthusiasm as the week before against your local rivals you would not have been nilled?
Yes you was missing some key player's but that does not give you the licence to roll over and get butt fecked by another team?
Leeds and Saints have injury's worse than your own and would not get nilled by Wigan?
Hull are signing 30 odd year old's who are prone to injury then it's Hull's fault?

Correct, but he is one of our better performers this year and those three players didn't play so we weren't quite full strength!!
