| though i still dont think hull are a top 3 side yet and have a fair way to go,i think if you look at the bigger picture of super league this season, most clubs are losing games they should be winning.st helens, leeds, huddersfield to mention just three are up and down.the reason hull are 4th is though we are inconsistant so are most other clubs.even wigan have lost more home games at home this season up to now than hull, including a very underpar display against harlequins.this season is very open so to me considering we still havent had a settled half back pairing,to be 4th in the league[ on merit] i think is comendable.we still need more quality in the backs, the attack still looks ponderous at times.but all in all i think we are getting there.

cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.
Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.
I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

SO 4TH PLACE WITH 5 TO GO IN THE REGULAR SEASON HAVING DONE DOUBLES OVER SAINTS AND HKR NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU THEN .
Ironically, you've just hit the nail on the head.
This is precisely the point that we in the non-agar camp are trying to make. Yes, 4th in the table is fine (especially when compared to 11th/12th). Yes, doing the double over both Saints & rovers (in probably the four best games of the season so far) is highly pleasing. But, you're right. It isn't enough for us. Because we believe that this club is more than capable of so much more. Victories over Saints, rovers and the rest should be the norm not the exception. There is absolutely no reason why this club cannot make regular visits to Wembley & Old Trafford over a sustained period of time.
The structure and resources of Hull Fc point towards potentially the biggest club in SL, but those resources are clearly not being transferred into an equivilent level of success by the first team. It is this feeling of settling for second best, of being fourth instead of first which is so frustrating for a section of the faithful. It is the opinion of some on here that one of the reasons for Hull Fc failing to pitch their tent at the very summit of the game is down to Richard Agar. That is our opinion, you disagree I know, but that is what this forum exists for.
Is it wrong for supporters, who follow the club through thick and thin, to want the best, to see their team winning on the biggest stages of all. I reckon that is what Jake was getting at when he says he loves the club. Because we, as supporters expend a large amount of energy on this club. They are interwoven into our lives. The team wins and life is good, the team loses and life is a drag. There are plenty of people in this City whose lives are directly affected by how their chosen team performs each week. Surely we all would love to see a Hull Fc captain lifting a trophy aloft at Wembley or Old Trafford. I'm sure you would just as much as the rest of us. Who knows on that day we may all be friends together .
I should also point out that where Hull Fc are concerned this is hardly new territory. I am rapidly approaching my 50th year on this planet and in my entire lifetime our club has won 6 major trophies (1 Championship, 2 Challenge Cups, 1 Premiership, 1 JPS Trophy & 1 Floodlit trophy) and for a club of our size that is scant return for half a century.
Now fairly obviously Richard Agar can hardly be held accountable for failed opportunities in decades gone by, but for me personally it is a feeling of deja vu that annoys me so much. We could and should be kingpins of British RL. There is absolutely no reason why this cannot be with the right personnel in place. And I'm afraid it is my opinion (along with others on here) that your friend Richard, decent guy he unquestionably is, is not the man to deliver that success, and therefore this club continues to sell itself short.
And that is why being fourth is still not good enough, sorry.

You see, there you go again, trying to be the big "I am", trying to prove your point. I don't whine about anything. I voice my opinion on agar regularly and have seen nothing in his 2 1/2 year tenure to suggest he's anything but an average coach with an above average salary cap and a team that continues to misfire.
I want to see us win silverware. If he can mange that this season then maybe I'm wrong about him, but if we go out of the play offs with a whimper then maybe I'm not.
Now if you want to come back with an adult response please feel free, but if it's one of your usual childish jibes then don't bother, I have 2 kids of my own

saints, leeds, wire, hudds and to a lesser extent the dobbins have all proven this season they can play good rugby and take opposition teams to the cleaners. We've never looked likely to do it

True, however the ability to rack up points will often mean you win some games you should probably lose

Weekend away for me.
A win in a derby tells you absolutely nothing. Yes the players were up for it (and rightly so) Agar finally changed things (took long enough) but as pleasing as the win was it was still a game we should have put to bed long before the final whistle.
I gave Agar credit for getting things right but lets see what happens on friday when we play a top team. If we perform anywhere like we did at their place we will get mullered, and considering that night we had Longy on the field we still struggled to make chances till the game was dead and buried.
