IMO it's time to say thank you and goodbye at the end of this season!! Either that, or put him on a squad backup players wage and play him as such!!
He earns alot more than he provides!!'"
Agree 100%.
Good player when fit. Only problem is for whatever reasons, he never seems to be fit for any decent length of time to judge is form fairly. If you look at the other stand offs in SL, you have to ask the question, would you swap R Horne for them taking into account ability, wage and how much time they actually spend on field. The following stand offs at other clubs I would swap with R Horne. All must be on similar wage.
Wigan – Sam Tomkins.
Warrington – Lee Briers.
Bradford – Brett Kearney.
Castleford – Rangi Chase.
Leeds – Danny McGuire.
Catalans – Adam Mogg (Before he left)
Wakefield – Paul Cooke (If you forget what he did to us).
Crusaders – Michael Witt.
Saints – Leon Pryce.
Harlequins – Luke Dorn and Huddersfield’s – Kevin Brown and Salford’s - Ratchford are on par IMO.
Basically you would swap him for most other stand offs in comp.

Perfectly said, if he has an extended run of games i'm sure we will see the old Rich Horne back to his best,
his illness should not be taken into account for his performances.

| Once again we seem to be looking for a scapegoat , who will it be next week??
Of course Richard has been missed he is a top class footballer and we always look a better side with him in it, the issue this season if there has been an issue is that we have not yet seen him have the time to gel with Shaun!!
Answer is YES we have missed him

Nobodies looking for a scapegoat. A simple question was asked in do we miss him? My opinion was no as hes offered so little on the playing side in such a long time and that i think he's been carried in a lot of games. If he can return to his form of a few years ago then yes he would be a player who would be missed but currently and i admit largely due to injuries, he isnt.

| other than his form at the beginning of the season i haven't really been that impressed with him. however, given that Washbrook is the alternative when he's injured then i'd say we have missed him. IMO we should be looking for a better (i.e. more reliable, less injury prone) stand-off.

He was firing on all cylinders before he got injured but has put his body on the line for the team and ended injuring himself even more.'"
I agree completely with the fact that Washy is not a 6 and yes Horney will improve the team at the moment that position.
But, my point being, Horne is a shadow of the player before his injury. He is a player on an international wage but in no way is he an international quality player!!
I'm not starting a vendetta against Horne, i just feel that if we want to push for trophies and more success we need to progress more and losing a big earner who isn't performing at his best will help us to do this.
I think bringing Ratchford in for 2011 to work alongside Longy for a year will help no end and he will be far cheaper than Horne!!
People may disagree, but that is just my opinion!!

Wigan – Sam Tomkins. Couldnt afford him
Warrington – Lee Briers.Organiser who would play the SL role
Bradford – Brett Kearney.Possibly, not much difference
Castleford – Rangi Chase.Just as erratic as RH in my book
Leeds – Danny McGuire.see Tompkins
Catalans – Adam Mogg (Before he left)He's gone!!!!!
Wakefield – Paul Cooke (If you forget what he did to us).See Briers, never in a month of sundays anyway
Crusaders – Michael Witt.See Briers/Cooke but if you'd said Sammut could see where you were coming from
Saints – Leon Pryce.Poor for last couple of seasons but at his best then a big yes
Harlequins – Luke Dorn and Huddersfield’s – Kevin Brown and Salford’s - Ratchford are on par IMO.

| Ratchford is the one!! Young, English, Has alot of potential but with already high level of ability, And cheap due to being at a club which possibly won't get a their franchise renewed.
He could learn from Long and even to a degree from Horne but for Horney to stay i would want him to take a pay cut at his next renewal down to squad player level or simply allow him to move on with our best wishes!!

50K of Horneys contract doesn`t count due to his service , making him a cheaper option.
Lets judge Richard if he gets to play consistanly alongside Long.

He looked back to his best when he got consecutive MOM awards earlier this season.

Horne needs some luck now. I'd love to see him back in the side and then staying fit for a good 3 or 4 months to really show his worth. I said before the season started that if he comes back stronger than ever it will be like having a brand new signing at 6 because of the best part of 2 years he's missed.

Richard Horne gets more money after his £50k deduction than Stefan Ratchford would cost plus; Better injury record (so far), Better prospect and ability to adapt and learn more from Longy (a player to build a team around for the next 10 yrs).
Also, that £50k would then switch to another player in their testimonial year e.g. Yeamo can't be far off.
We would still be saving Horne's full salary

The money is irrelevant to me mate, Horne is a shoe in when fit. We just need to get him fit. He's head and shoulders above Ratchford and is still only 27/28 i think. If he gets over his injuries we have 5+ years left of Horne at 6.
