Ogre, Moa possibly LMS and then Dowes is a decent unit with Wheeldon as back up. Just who else could we realistically get that is British and an improvement without costing a lot more money?

Sr's who can play as prop, same way we could use luaki/fitz/tickle i guess rather than keeping 5 first choicers

Well going by that theory we can say Fitz and Hame are back up props as well so were actually really strong at prop
This thread was about the possibility of signing Wheeldon, my point is that as a 5th choice prop who else would be better? We already have 2 quota props signed up for next season so the replacements must be British and realistically available.

Maybe we should go with just the 4 props for next season with back-up from the 2nd Row and spend the money elsewhere?

well, everyone keeps saying on here about lauaki been used as both a sr and a prop.leeds have done similiar, possibly due to injuries, but they have done it.4 props and hame could be an option?we are desperate for a 3/4 and a halfback, hopefully ones who have a bit of pace aswell.i would rather see the money go on them positions than waste £35-50k on a 5th choice prop.

| I dont think you need 4 super star props. I have seen NRL teams use 2 quality ones and bring though youth players and/or cheaper alternatives. Im sure there are to bright young things somewhere who deserve a shot.
Tough position but if you are a decent size and you can hold onto a ball you can give it a good shot. That is what Dowes and Radford do but im sure there are 2 others out there who can do it on half the cash they are on.
They are still most likely on "International Player" sized wages.

-with our injury problems,we need more than 2 'star' props!!!ogre and moa fit the bill, but we need 2 more-would people be happy with dowes being retained?or radford?i think 1 will stay and 1 will go.

| A definate no to getting wheeldon back. Why would you want someone potentially 5th choice commanding that kind of money under the salary cap. Would rather run with 4 props and use one of our youngsters as cover thus freeing up money for a decent centre.
