galea hasn't stayed fit for teh last 2 years so nothing to suggest he will for the next 2

We might end up with Fitz and Galea, who knows? If Long keeps fit then in him and Horne we have a good halfback combo. The only way we would sign another half back is if one of those two leaves, which is not going to happen.
We have decent threequarters, if Calderwood leaves then we can sign another winger, we have to decide if Hall is going to be the centre to play alongside Yeaman and if not whether Briscoe will be tried there. Then there is also Whiting to pay there. There will be room for manouvre and we can also look at British options, it does not always need to be quota players we are thinking about.

| All interesting points Paul but I'd be quite happy to bring matty smith on a year or two deal and think it's quite possible, a overseas player in the position? No chance.
The 3/4's could be good with the correct signings.
Calderwood/replacement
Yeaman
Berrigan/Shenton
Briscoe
or
Calderwood/replacement
Briscoe
Yeaman
new signing(owen, colbun, murphy)
would be good options.
I personnely believe if fitz goeshe doest need replaceing in the back row.

The 2nd option will be more likely than the first, we won't be signing Shenton.

Shenton could pick from a host of top sides, why would he choose Hull? Saints would be a more likely option to replace Gidley or Leeds to replace Senior.

you won't find any arguments off me Paul, just saying I'd make him or diskin my top aims.
Hasn't senior signed a one year extention?

If Berro was to leave then we would have a decision to make. Sign a top hooker with Houghton as back up from the bench or promote Houghton and sign another young hooker to play off the bench. Depends on where they want to spend the money? Berro will be on big money and maybe they could get two for the price of one. If Moa was to leave there would not be muhc to play with as he does not earn much. I doubt Lauaki or Ogre will leave.

Didn't Moa sign for 2 years?

| If we got diskin I'd move berro to centre.
I'd guess we could probably get
LMS
Diskin/Shenton
Owen/Colbun/murphy
smith
for
Radford or dowes
Cusack
Tickle/Fitz
hall

| Berrigan for me everytime. We should be able to sign a hooker on half of his money and use his quota spot for a top centre. Hudson, Alker, Robinson, Smith etc.. there are many to choose from that wouldn't cost too much.
Getting rid of Moa or O'Meley would be sheer madness and I really hope that Fitz stays.

Yeah but they could release him, Berro could still leave as his 4th year is optional, Fitz could leave as his second year is optional.

That's a bit adventurous I reckon.
I think Radford will stay for one more year, with Yak retiring then that would free money for a prop, LMS is a possibility but it would leave us with 5 props and so the question is, is the balance right? Maybe soemone like Moore at Wakey would be an option?
If Tickle leaves then that would give us money for Galea but not a spot.
If Berro left that would give us the spot for Galea and money for two players but who those would be god knows. Shenton won't come to Hull I don't think. What makes you think Diskin wants to leave? Buderus might leave as he is a quota player.
If Hall left then it won't free up a lot of money and Owen might be able to command more from elsewhere as he will have a number of offers.
If Caalderwood was to leave then there would be money to spend but the question would also be what happens to Lyne and Tuffour, will they be promoted.
Lots of ifs and buts.
