There are few, very few, great coaches that were good players. Hanley & Gregory for example.

At least something is working for him.

| To be fair to Rule I have emailed him three times now about Agar and he has responded to the first two, the third was only sent a week ago.
Sadly each time he says the board is fully behind Richard Agar so I don't see anything changing. Its so frustrating because the club can be so much better with the right man at the helm. While I anticipate us finishing higher than the last couple of years we will still massively underachieve.

| Quote: Standee "People have to face facts, Agar has a new contract so he is going nowhere, even if he decided to do the right thing and walk away he'd still want paying off, our board are not going to cost themselves that amount of money and the extra it would take to get someone else in.
Agar will rip the heart out of the fans with his poor tactics and substitutions, we have injuries so his built-in excuse has triggered already, we'll start fighting amongst ourselves (verbally) as the season peters off to a damp squib, as IanP has said, it's the 80's all over again.'"
Well, we don't know if (or not) in the extended contract, that there could be certain targets to be achieved.
As a business that could be facing loosing money, it might be the cheaper option to get rid of Agar, then to loose quite a few fans.

| Quote: Tongan Mafia "Dear James
Could you please tell me who decided to give Richard Agar another two year contract please. He hasnt done anything in his time at the club to warrant an extension. We have the most passholders in superleague and a nice stadium and grade A license as well as making a profit.
I would guess is was the board who offered the contract!!! what are you expecting his to say????
And how do you thank the fans by given us another poor poor coach for another two years. You say everyone has a different opinion and that is a fair point but I challege you to send a survey out asking ALL the passholders how they feel about having Agar in charge for another two years.
Why would he does this? If he sacks Agar he has to pay him off!
I tell you now it wont be pretty reading James. If you really care about the Old faithfull you would go out there and get a top class coach and dont insult us with the [sizecheap and cheerful option of your best mate Agar[/size.
How do you know Rule and Agar are best mates? How do you know he is cheap

| I agree with both emails as well, it's hard to see an Average Coach making my team and average team.
ps
Wish the kr troll would go back to his own board.

| The board and the players believe in Agar even though the fans don't. Expect some top players to extend their contracts soon I reckon now Agar has signed on.
I just wish all this belief in him by the players would manifest itself on the pitch.

I tend to find managers who are popular with staff but not customers tend to be very lenient managers who let their staff do pretty much as they like.

The board believe in him that is plainly obvious, however i am not so sure the players do. Yes we have seen players backing him but does anyone really think they would publicly come out and say he is doing a terrible job?

Possibly, they could however have genine belief that he is the right man. I believe Hull will be talking to Fitz like they did with Kearney regarding the head coach position and taking his word as gospel. If Fitz has given Agar his backing then that would not be to get an easy ride as he is not that type of bloke.

Senior players would speak freely imo. O'Meeley, Fitz, Berro etc would not be frightened to speak their minds.
