To us REAL fans, there's no better feeling than winning competitions. Getting to a final is next. Then a top 6 finish or semi-final appearance. Then I suppose the derby counts as the most important league fixture.
Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.
Quite sad, really! [/quote:1juz9zgo]

Our best player so far this year wasn't playing. Like people say Lyne was hammered by Jodie Broughton so what top players like Hicks and King could of done to the kids confidence. The team benefited more from having Whiting on the wing then it would have having him in LF. Everyone calls from him to play LF but no one has actually seen him play there so no one knows how good he would be, our forwards are our best asset and our team in the middle has been formidable why would you want to change that?

No he hasn't

| Here's a shocker .....
But to put Liam Kent into a game against Anderson, Harrison, Morley, Carvell and Wood would have been more damaging than playing Lyne against Wires backs.

We were in exactly the same position at this time last year. The performances against Crusaders, Salford and Hull KR do not reflect the ability we have on the pitch. We celebrated the derby win like we had just beaten the 1982 Aussie tourists. We have some very good individuals out on the park who have pedigree at the top level of this sport.
Our coach is simply out of his depth at this level. Both Hudds and Wire have made massive strides that can be attributed to a change of coaching staff.

| I don't think Agar did a lot (if anything) wrong today. To put Lyne in against the Wire three quarters would have been suicide. He had to name him on the bench because we were so short of options. Thought Agar got the timing right with the interchanges having been dealt a crappy hand losing Long so early.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...: |

Quite. Losing Long played a major part in the interchanges today.
Well played Hull today you did not get the rub of the green.

agree its a big ask but wing is a position warrington could have attacked via briers kicks - your errors are more likely to be high profile out there. kent could have had a short spell in the middle taking it up and giving the forwards a break, who knows he may have risen to the occasion. but i kind of agree, it was a desperate situation which hopefully won't happen again

Derbies are never highly skilled affairs. Do you think Hudd's talent was reflected today when they were hammered? Our Wire's talent against a seriously understrength Hull side? Surely it must have been as a coach. We matched Wire (who have a much better coach than us btw) for most of the match despite coming out of a much harder game and having large (important) parts of our team missing.
BTW this time last year we were 8th coming off a derby loss in the middle of a 4 match losing streak. You say this coaching staff is out of it's depth yet we have reached 2 CC finals and a GF in recent years with pretty much the same staff.

8903.gif
Briscoe couldn't get into Wigans Team because of Radlinski even though Radlinski was playing crap at the time still better than old bent nose.[/quote:36nw6ut6]
Oh and as for Briscoe,if he was that fab,why did Wigan see fit to let him leave?[/quote:36nw6ut6]:8903.gif |

| Why didn't we go with:
1. Tansey
2. Whiting
3. Hall
4. Yeaman
5. Lyne
6. Turner
7. Long
8. Cusack
9. Berrigan
10. O'Meley
11. Manu
12. Burnett
13. Washbrook
14. Houghton
15. Moa
16. Dowes
17. Radford
?
That way, everyone (Whiting aside, although he's more than able on the wing) is playing in their correct positions. We don't have a bench spot wasted. We don't have to use our props in the back-row. The rotation isn't messed up from the start.
If the reason for not going with that team is that Lyne isn't ready, why is he anywhere near the squad at all? If he's good enough to come off the bench if required, he's good enough to start. Leaving him sat there will have done his confidence no better than letting a couple of tries in would. And that's if we're assuming he's going to fail without even giving him a chance.

All I was saying was Manu would be more than capable of filling in at centre (which he has on a number of occasions) should an injury have occured.
