He deserves a proper chance, certainly. Best case he makes 6 his own. Should at least be a decent utility squad player - already is in fact.

Yeaman I'll give you.
Hall definitely can put his winger away.
Briscoe hasn't had the chance to show one way or the other.

| Quote: carl_spackler "I'll only bite on this one. Largely down to not having a consistent partnership on the right so little understanding has been built, and our only consistently picked centre being the one least capable/willing to put his winger away on the left.
We have one centre who doesn't use his winger enough, the others simply haven't had enough of a chance to do so for the last 2 seasons to say that with such certainty.'"
I'll defend Yeamo a little bit here. I agree, he doesn't pass to his winger enough, but i also think with the limited ball he gets he isn't as bad as some think.

If Horne can continue as he is and with Turner also in the ranks, a pre-season learning with Long then back to Salford on loan could be good for all parties, like Huddersfield did with McNally.'"
I really rate Ratchford but i'm not sure where we'd play him long term or whether he'd even add to our squad.

I wasn't counting Whiting as a centre as such. He fills in there well when needed but shouldn't be considered as one of the centres in terms of squad balance.

| I'm not 100% on LMS, he has been poor for about a year now, doesnt seemed to have kicked on from early promise, maybe a change of enviroment would do him good.
I would look at Watts (who i expect to sign a new contract at Rovers, but would make it know to his agent that we are interested) and Scruton (if he is OCC).
As for young halfbacks I am quiet excited about the two we have playing in the under 20's both still young and playing together and creating a good understanding. I would see how they progress this season.
Really liked the look of Rachtford last year thought he looked better than Myler.
Is early but it good to speculate.
I have heard that there are a few clubs looking at Richard Owen (including Rovers), would be worth looking at if he became available.

| Isn't Owen's primary position full-back? We're well served in that area with Tansey, Whiting and Jack Briscoe in a couple of seasons.

Tbf Yeaman has his fair number of try assists over the years compared with other FC centres although I seem to remember Sid Domic putting his winger in more than most.
I used to shout at Yeaman all the time for not parting with the ball but I do believe he is much improved. On Friday he had a chance to pass one that he chose not to but I think he'd have put his winger in trouble if he had.
So far, this year, I have been really impressed with Hall. The things I have accused him of he just hasn't done: namely, not respecting the ball and poor tackling and, according to the stats (which backs up what I believed), he has only made one error per match. When you add this to his accelleration, pace and gift for finding the tryline I'm hoping for big things from him this year. I do hope he doesn't start flinging blind passes out again - but not much sign of that this year so far.

| Quote: Mild Rover "Whitehaven aren't in SL. I'm not sure Salford would react as well to developing other teams' players for them. Also if he wants out of Salford, the obvious next step isn't to spend another year there. He's about 3 years older than McNally too and ready pretty much now. Hull just don't look to have an attractive vacancy for him at this stage. If Cooke leaves Rovers, he'd be a good option for us. He's under contract for 2011 at Salford, though, and I can't see us coming up with a big transfer fee. 2012 might be more realistic if you lot want to swoop. The value of mentoring from top pros (like Long and Fitzgibbon) is being slightly exaggerated, IMO. There is no substitute for playing.'"
I'm not saying Salford would be over the moon about developing a player for others, but if Ratchford was/is interested in moving on, they may be better served cashing in whilst he has a year left like they did with Myler, rather than him sit out his deal and leave for nothing. Going back for a year to allow them to line up a suitable replacement may also appeal.
It's a possibility to look at, at least.

| Manu and Fitz must be a must. If we re-sign Hall i hope we give him a longer contract, maybe 3 years. Give him the opportunity to cement his place in the side. I think it will also depends on how much the player wants to play or us. Are they willing to play for us for less money. I remember hearing Sinfield after winning the GF saying that Leeds players have turned down more money to stick with Leeds. Will this be the case. Depends what clubs might be interested in our OCC players.

Yeaman went through a patch where the ball appeared to be superglued to his hands, but did make efforts to address this a couple of seasons back and has improved. He's never going to be the type of centre who regularly creates tries for his winger, though - his strengths lie elsewhere.

I think that part of Hall's problem used to be the lack of support/options and therefore trying to find the 'miracle ball'. This season, with much more structured play, better support, and the lack of panic this brings, he doesn't need to throw out the speculative passes and looks much better for it.

Looking at that I'd re-sign all that are OOC, except Cusack due to the quota regulations. We need a replacement for him and a young halfback for Longy to mentor in 2011.'"
depending on form and who else is available id like to see everyone apart from cusack all signed up. so 1 prop to replace cusack scruton, lms and maybe a young halfback but lets look at the academy first nicklas looks a good player

Wouldn't be surprised to see Berrigan move on as well. Don't know anything, just a feeling I have. Would like to see him stay, but if not at least a large wedge of the salary cap will be freed up.
Are Radford & Dowes out of contract after this season?. If so, a few interesting decisions will have to be made.'"
Would get fitz signed asap
Manu and Tickle would also try and get them signed up
Berro won't be going anywhere
Ratchford,LMS and Owen before he was injured we was intrested in, don't think they will be much overseas recruitment and will look at young English talent, plus Reece Lynee will be pushing for a place come next season too
