Ryan Hall is nothing special imo. Another solid English winger who scores bags of tries because of the players inside him. If you put him in our team last year he would have been no better than Calders what so ever.

As much as I like Calders I've never been a big an of spending lots of money on a winger (I don't know what he earns but I would imagine it is a decent wage). With Lyne knocking on the door who is probably bigger, faster and stronger is it worth keeping him? I suppose I would give him one more year to see how Lyne and Tuffour develop. Tbh we are spoilt for young 3 quarter talent atm. It will be difficult to accomodate T Briscoe, Hall, Lyne, Yeaman, Calders, Turner and Tuffour in the same side, all of which either are, or have the makings of quality players.'"
He certainly didn't look bigger against Rovers! However, he did back his pace and burned down the wing before getting effectively punched in the face!

i've got the feeling we didn't spend big to get him here, Wigan released him, and noone else seemed to want him. So I woulden't be surprised if we got a bit of bargain.

| Calderwood aint a patch on Ryan Hall and I think you guys should let him go at the end of his contract if these young lads coming through are as good as some say on here.

In what ways is Ryan Hall so far superior to Calderwood?
I get the feeling that, if he gets a bit of service this season, a few people are going to be eating their words.

Well apart from possibly the kick chase, Hall in every other department for me.

yeah he works hard but he is sh$te, look at his returns, he is like a little fairy, i have never rated the kid there are plenty of other wingers we can spend the money on.

| Quote: Amadeo Avogadro "Calderwood has been excellent for us since the moment he signed. Throughout the crap we endured last year he was one of the few who looked consistently interested. Added to that, he is one of the fastest wingers in SL.
I cannot, for the life of me, see a reason why any Hull fan would want to get rid of him. It baffles me.'"
you have to be crackers if you think he is as good as you work out, look at the ruturn balls he runs in, he drops before the defence get to him, he can be really bad under the high ball he is absolutely sh$te id spend the money some where else

Thanks for your comments. But given that you reckon Berrigan has played over 95% of his games for Hull at hooker and is "very average", I think we can discount your opinions of FC players. No offence.

You are obviously as good a student of the game as you are the English language.

Care to name these other departments so your argument is more evidentially sound ??

| I can't see why so many people are so keen to get rid of him. He's a quality English winger with bags of big game experience and he's still only 28!!
For me Calderwood was our player of the year last season (albeit not many to pick from), he tackles everything, gives 110% and always looks committed and enthusiastic. He hasn't had a great deal of service which probably explains his lack of tries but with Longy providing some kicks to run onto and a few ball handlers chucking long passes out wide that could all be about to change. Definatley worth a new deal in my mind.
