| Quote: Diesel24 "Good little half back partnership Williams and Nicklas getting better each season too. I've siad for a while Williams will be the next Hull born scrum half to come through the ranks and make it big. Think he's got a good tactical brain, good little kicking game, good footwork, Progressing well imo. He's in the Jets programme and currently has training sessions with Longy twice a week.
Was saying the other day i'd try Horne and Turner (then went on to think seen as though Horne isn't performing in the middle of the park why not try Whiting at 6 and Turner at 7 with Horne at 1 just for a game, thats a diff story for diff thread though) together this friday and if that doesn't work i'd throw Williams in at the deep end, isn't ready to do it week in week out but he's an out n out 7 and has vision and a kicking game. I know it's a total diff ball game but look at Mcnally when he was thrown in for whitehaven at 16, was at school in the morning and scoring 4 tries for them on the night.
Teams throw youngsters into the mix all the time we shouldn't be scared to do it, at the end of the day like i say he's an out n out 7.'" having watched highlights thought hull had a few stand out players , BUT that was against a very poor looking york team

Thought that myself mate, 2 very exciting prospects coming through

| Nicklas took his try well. The two wingers looked lightning fast. The left centre looked more greedy than Yeaman

| I would give either/both of these lads a go in the first team ( if they're good enough, they're old enough! ) as our current half back pairing haven't done any good over the last couple of seasons.

Not a bad 6 or 7, but miles behind Williams + Nicklas imo! Better at 9 but again not as gd as Pat Smith or Danny Bloom!.

Not our [icurrent[/i halfback pairing, or indeed our regular halfback pairing over the last couple of seasons.
I know I'm being pedantic but it irritates me when people basically re-write history just because they're hacked off with the present.

| Horne and Washy are probably more current than Horne and Long as they played together more and in the last match. Turner does not even come into it as he hasn't played yet.
Either way I would not want either of them near the first team this season unless we lose 2/3 player through injury and have no choice.

Sorry....I was actually refering to Horne & Washbrook as they are the most recent pairing (Crusaders) and more than likely be the pairing tonight? Would welcome Washbrook & Turner tonight for something different though!

I think there's every chance of Turner being given a run out tonight TBH.
Washy and Horne aren't going to work, but we do have options with more experienced players (Turner, Tansey, Hall, Berro) before dropping two inexperienced youngsters in at the deep end.
