For all that people have moaned endlessly about picking the same old big names who have failed consistently at international level, when you get rid of them what's left looks flakey to say the least. The back line is going to be embarrassed. Bring back Keith Senior! Wonder if Sean Long can get us odds on a record defeat.

Coaching staff have been impressed with Briscoe during the training, but maybe not ready to pit him in against the Aussies, kiwis yet

That's correct. Saints and Leeds players are not playing in Wales due to the Grand Final. They'll be joining later.

| I find the inclusion of Chris Bridge a bit odd...I dont think that he has been outstanding this year when i have seen him and his goal kicking performance at the KC means that he surely cant be included for that reason?
I think a backline of S. Briscoa, Fox, Eastmond, Shenton and Hall wouldnt be all that bad. Its what we have all cried out for for so long, the young in form players to be given their chance. Now they have it. I think that they will do well.

THE INDEPENDANT: Today the east, which contains the biggest council estate in Europe, is poor, a place of high unemployment and low expectation. The west, which has the city centre and the university, is posh and prosperous.:15535.jpg |

| Good to see that the RFL are recognising players former amateur clubs, but yet again there is a massive discrepency between the amateur clubs in Hull and the amount of players who go on to reach the top level.
How is it that Hull and East Yorks has 4 teams in the top division who have all enjoyed plenty of sucess over the last few years yet they have only managed to produce 1 player for the England squad? What happens between playing for East Hull or Skirlaugh or West Hull or Dockers and playing in the pro ranks? It's been this way for a number of years, other than Wilkin I can only think of Yeaman and Horne who have turned out of England/GB.

Tomkins for Myler and Sinfield for O'Loughlin for me. Glad Briscoe and Tickle are not involved they can rest up for a month before Pre Season, Briscoe has a big international future ahead of him but not ready for Aussies and Kiwis yet.
