| Richard Horne has been poor all season . He is a pale shadow of his former self .
Maybe his injury and other health issues have taken there toll ?

good post.
what that guy did to put his hand up and play in a challenge cup final and get clobbered like he did by graham,he is a true proffesional in every sense.fair dos hes not been upto scratch for whatever reasons but class is permanent he will be back.

but just where has the real Richard Horne gone?
every kick went straight to the opposition, and apart from that he was anonymous.
Can't fault his effort, or his defensive commitment, but just being able to tackle simply isn't good enough for a 'SL standard' stand-off. People say we missed him last season, but I just can't see what he's done since round 6 of this season.'"
Little to choose between Horne and Thorman at half back. Absolutely shocking we need a new SO to partner Long. Feel sorry for Rich but injury and illness have had a severe impact.

No I'm not having a laugh, I just can give an opinion on Horne without having my cock halfway up his .
He has done nothing for years, he's not creative enough and barring his short kicking game his kicking game is pants. The constant inside ball is predictable as well as embarassing, if we have two players on the field who can take control then some games Horne may shine but these days he is a passenger and no better then Thorman.
Just because he is local or has played for us for many seasons people seem to love him. He is not the player you people make him out to be and there is a reason we have being stuck with him for 10 years, because no er else wanted him.
I can't see why people can slag Thorman off to f*ck yet Horne can go through a game without doing anything critisism free. He's milked off this club for far too long and its about time we said to him thanks Rich but no thanks.

I havnt said anything about being top class
It was more the fact you said hes milked the club for years. After what the blokes been through the past 18 month im just glad hes had the opportunity to play the game again. Hes obviously had problems getting the weight back on hes lost and has definitely suffered on the pitch because of this but to suggest hes milked the club is disgusting.

| interesting that you say horne has milked the club, but how much revenue has his name brought into the club with shirt sales and merchandise. granted he hasn't been anywhere near his best since 2006, (13 tries in 13 games, or did tha slip your memory), hopefully next season along side long and a stronger pack to lay the platform for them both to build on he will be back to near his best
jason smith was a fantastic player, but in my opinion, he milked the club by refusing to be paid off when injured, instead just sitting in the stand taking his wage week after week

Well when you put it like that I suppose I was being harsh but I wouldn't agree we have had value for money.

We don't pay his wage to sell shirts, we pay him to win rugby games. Or did that slip your memory.

Again though as I have said many times Horne will come into a game when he has others to do the work for him. This is why I would like to see him at FB, as a stand off he brings very little to the table. Sure he scored 13 tries in a row but we dont see that enough from him, I mean I can't even think of one game were hes dominated it from the off. Something you want your half backs to do, take Rovers for example. Last week they didn't play great but there half backs still did enough to make sure they won the game, ok they had decisions go there way but there kicking game killed us.

Well I don't know how all the politcs work but wouldn't he be due the same money if he was paid off as opposed to just staying ? Even so he would have being injured by putting his body on the line for the club.

What a d1ck
Richard is a truly outstanding player who has suffered a loss of form as the season has progressed for whatever reason, injury, weight, confidence i don't know, but i tell you 1 thing he will be back
He is playing without a recongised scrum half, we have no leader to get the players around the park, plays behingd a beaten pack most weeks
I will judge Rich next seaon when he has the players around him and has had a season to try and manage his illness properley
Form is tempoary,class is permanent
And to suggest he has milked the club, what a fooking idiot you are he is 1 of the few players i have never heard a bad word about, who is there at every training session giving his all, puts in 100% everytimehe takes the pitch and doesn't feel the need to be out on the p1ss a night or 2 before the game

Its a difficult one to discuss when we still dont know the true impact of the health issues leading to said lack of form. Its an issue if the class just isnt there any more. Defensively for example he is currently a liability and is one of the worst for missed tackles in SL currently.
Creatively RH has always been about his running game and very little about his passing game. My concern for next year is that with the level he has played at its not really good enough.
I think we need to bring a 6 in that has more of a stand offs game and then shift Horney to cover or play right centre etc. The bigger issue is that he i a top earner in the squad but if he suddenly becomes an average player is it fair that the salary cap is getting swallowed up on him. I'd renegotiate his deal and drop his wage or try to offload if im being honest currently.
