TBH I'm only understand it as I read about it yesterday to see what the situation was for Hull.
I still dont fully understand how players like Gene etc can get exception to the quota?

As JTP said earlier, there was the potential for legal action from some players who'd been playing here since before there was a quota, had the legal right to work in the UK, and faced not having their contracts renewed due to lack of quota places. The 'Gene Exemption' was brought in to head off that threat. |

Hi. Specualtion rather than rumours, but I didn't think this justified a thread of its own:
With Hull generally accepted to be having a clear out and having already announced the capture of some high profile (and therefore probably moderately expensive) players, I just wondered if you think any of your current big earners might have to make way?
I know the Crocker situation will have put you well under the cap this year. However, of the players that most of you want to see released, I'm guessing only Radford and maybe King will be on biggish money. Could one or two of your more desirable players be making way as part of the overhaul? I've seen Tickle and Raynor linked with other clubs.

Don't think anyone's said for sure they would have they? Just that it would be nice to have the option of keeping him or Moa if they impress between now and the end of the season. It's only the same as the club renewing Radford's contract so early (which has also been heavily criticised on here), with the added overseas complication. It just seems like the club aren't learning to keep some options open, instead of tying players down when better opportunities might emerge. I don't think that's a particularly unfair view. |

Motu Tony and Todd Bryne will have been on quite a bit I reckon and also Yak's deal is rumoured to be reduced. |
