| Quote: worldwidefaithful "Could hull city fill a 40k stadium week after week even if they did stay in the premiership?'"
they were lucky to stay up as it is, as for fillin a 40k stadium there isnt 40k football fans of hull city in this city because 25k punters choose to watch rugby league. the rest of the citys population have no interest in either code otherwise they would watch pro sport in hull every week.
as for duffen, when he finally gets rumbled he'll be chased out of the city with his tail between his legs just like he was when west ham warned him off.

He not sold his Lambo then?
Joking aside, Duffen is small fry, he's a fron man earning £20k per month, the real money men are behind the scenes, they go to the games via a helicopter costing them £6000 per hour.
They do have the cash

| doubt they'd jump straight to 40k, more likely they'll just add the 2nd tier to the east stand
I'd also have thought that a lot of work would be needed on the access if they were going to add 15k to the capacity. Walton Street is bad enough with 12k never mind 40k.

| So you think the KC stadium will increase to 40k ..and you want a new ground built for the 2 Rugby teams were is the cash coming form Hull have a Contract to play at KC ..Hull will still have a Grade A licence if the ground went to 40k ..We get this every time the KC is the home of Hull F C /and Hull City the landlord is the Council who have the final say on anything to do with the Stadium

| City only officially sold out once last season. No need for expansion simple as. Yes I would prefer our own ground but the kc is our home now and it is the envy of the league.

From the land of the Airlie Bird's.: |
|
| What should of happened is redeveloped the Boulevard, built same as Doncaster as the keepmoat is like a smaller version of the KC, sure alot of fans would of been happy with that,

| I do grow very tired of these threads
One more time .................
The only organisation who can put extra capacity on the KC stadium is .......................... The city council
The stadium is OWNED BY HULL CITY COUNCIL AND THE TWO JOINT MAIN TENNANTS ARE HULL CITY AND HULL FC. Under user agreement both sides have equal rights at the KC, despite what some KR fans may hope.
The extension will not happen is it is going to cost the city council money, which for the east stand second tier will be around £16 million. That would put around and extra 9K seats in now times that by the seat price and work out how many seasons it will cost to repay, adding in finance costs as well. Factor in that the Liberal party now run Hull, the very same party that wanted to ditch the stadium.
To erect a new 2nd teir the stadium would have to be closed down for a whole lot longer then the football closed season, perhaps nine months. Health and safety considerations are far tighter now and I think it would have to be closed down as most of the roof would have to come down as well.
The Boulevard can now never be used for for a large spectator sports club due to restrictions laid down in the current new planning regs for such sites. Even if FC did leave the KC this would change nothing, city do not own it and the codesals are so tight as to prevent even selling the stadium to them.
Shame I know But no extension not even for a world cup years away for Moldova to play Malta in .

Pleanty of Stadiums have been extended without having to close stands. Newcastle United's St James park is a great example of that.
As for the extension not happening? If you think that it won't, you are kidding yourself.

| i worked on the engineering side of the kc and the east stand can be developed to be the same as the west by taking the roof off and adding another tier. it was designed this way so possible increases could be done at a later date.
however, depending on how the extra tier was done (corporate boxes to seating) the capacity would only rise to between a min of 29k to a maximum of 33k. to my knowledge this is the max it can go to with existing plans

You could say that about almost any Club in the top flight.
Never let fear of failure hold you back!

PD was on Humberside lately saying that the original designers were drawing up the plans to take the Stadium capacity to either 40,000 or 45,000.
