The rumoured wage Dodson would be on seems very fair for a player who has proved he is a quality player in this comp. I assume the very best ie Long, Burrows would be on a good fair whack more. |

If we'd have really wanted him there would have been ways and means to get him surely.
As I understood it Dobson wanted the same sort of money that an International would have been paid.
The fact is at the time he had not played international rugby, nor state of origin and was playing second fiddle at his Aussie club.
Hull & Wigan wouldn't break their wage structure for him but Rovers would. Turned out to be a great move for Rovers but I still think we made the right decision if the above is true.

We'd have had to release one or more players and somehow avoid paying them off to the full value of their contracts. There's no other way to free up cap space nowadays. I guess it could have been done, but almost certainly not fast enough to seal a deal.

To be honest I don't know personally what any player is on exactly. What I am sure of though is that there are players at Hull FC that [ihave[/i played international rugby that have never earnt the money that Dobson is rumoured to be earning.
He's a great capture for you no denying that and arguaby worth his money. However if a club has a wage structure its unfair for them to break it for one player. |
