I didn't grt back to Rodley in Leeds until quarter to one, total farce. Ended up driving through Doncaster and back up the A1. God knows what time the Saints fans got home. The lack of warnings and useless diversion signs made it worse. However even that couldn't put a dampener on a fantastic game.

Chin dropped when I saw the signs to divert towards Beverley. I went through Ferriby and Elloughton rejoined at South Cave. Followed the Preckie1 Saints bus so he must have been coming to Hull for a while. Basically followed the old A63!!!!!!

any idea why the diversion was in place?

So a bunch of blokes in high viz jackets can get a shed load of money doing not.

But its his opinion and he's entitled to it. You're normally a great believer in people having an opinion.

I'd hazard a guess at repairs

They were clearing the road of traffic so Standee could get to the match in double quick time.

I think they are re-surfacing some of the road that's why it was closed.

Very inconsiderate closing roads on an evening. They should do it around 6am on a Monday morning and open them again around 7pm

It was a total nightmare. After leaving the park & ride and driving for almost 2 hours down to Doncaster and back we ended up pretty much back in Hull. It felt like a maze.

The A63, M62 and parts of the M18 were closed. The diversion signs were totally confusing and it was not clear which related to the M62 diversion and which were the M18. I and many others were just going round in circles. Finally a lady at a petrol station advised us to head for Snaith and we eventually found the M62 West again. We arrived home at 1.30am as I believe did a number of coaches but people on Redvee.net saying they arrived home post 3am!!


We have e mailed the Highways Agency today to complain.

Good luck bit like saying my driving examiner was wrong, I didn't do it!
