I used to like Canons (not sure if it still called that, next to Odeon), enough equipment to go round at peak times but not a barn like Total Fitness or David Lloyd. Can't beat the local authority for value; but you lose the hint of luxury.

Ramarda is very good. Really good pool and they have just upgraded the gym. They also have very few members, so its usually really quiet. Its pretty rare that there are more than a couple of people in the pool.

You can get it for £250 per year or £25 per month on the corporate rate.

Fit24. I got in before it opened and paid £160 for the year but think it's £22/month but just seen on here that someone thinks it's £20, might need to check on their website.

Equipment is top class and loads of it. Steam room and Sauna spot on and Sauna is the biggest I've been in.

Loads of classes in all different things too e.g. kickboxing and so on. All classes are free as a member.

As theres no closing time it dont matter what time you get there either.

I've not been to any other gyms in recent years in Hull so cant compare but this one works for me

Depends what you want from a gym. Some of them have loads of modern, fancy machines, but very few (if any) free weights. The two gyms with the best free weights sections (from the ones I've been in) are Total Fitness and David Lloyd. That's what's important to me, so they would be my recommendation.

24/7 have a massive free weights section as well as all the fancy machines and fixed weight machines

David llyod is your best bet if your close. I go there and it's superb. The free weights are great, gets pretty busy on a night but between 6 am and 4 pm it's pretty quiet. The pool is good as is the outdoor one in summer. As for drovers there only there between around 9 to 11 but it's getting less and less. They must have been told to pay the bill.
