| Quote: Dave K. "Forget pace, Wigans relentless defence won that. Thought apart from a couple of moments, Wigan were pretty poor with ball in hand (maybe the weather).
Rovers best two players Parcell and Hall won't be here next year.
Waits for the proud comments from their fans, but in reality that's two finals they have failed to turn up, how many more chances will they get.
Were we around in 2013 when Wigan beat us in the cup final?'"
Definitely won't be as easy for them next year. This was the year to win it, with teams like Saints and Catalans been poor. They'll both be very strong teams next year and Warrington will look better after another off season together. Top 4 for them next year will be a tough ask. Capable of it still, but harder to achieve than this year.

| Quote: Marcus's Bicycle "Wigan are a great team, one of the best of the SL era but fair play to Rovers (hate saying that) they gave everything but came up short. Most teams would have buckled and have been well beaten but they fought to the end.
Having said that....Rovers just don't do finals.
Fun over need to concentrate on ourselves. There's a lot of work to do.'"
10 minutes after the final hooter? I think not.

Won't get the luck with injuries either.
Can't wait to see Sue's stats, got to be one of the worse spells from a prop in history.

| To give rovers a little slack, I thought they played ok, not brilliant but ok, but for 80 minutes they were smothered, bullied and dominated by Wigan's work rate and defence.
Even if French hadn't pulled out his moment of brilliance you get the feeling Wigan would have defended a 3-2 lead until midnight if that was what it took to lift the title. Rovers became increasingly desperate as the game passed the hour mark and they never looked like finding an answer to unlocking the door.
Still, there's always next year as they say!
Since 1985, Since 1985..

| Best chance for Dobbins to win a GF. As others have Saints Wires Cats be better. Wigan still around. Plus by then we be up and running ha ha. Dobbins 2 finals bottled both. Commiserations to Moanaire who be sad at his fav team getting beat.

| Thank God Winter would have been unbearable after a week of that new rovers guy in the Mail saying it was all but won and some outlandish stuff from some at the Rovers whilst Wigan just kept their council and prepared immaculately, don't know what I enjoyed most Wigans defence or Lewis blubbing on Humberside afterwards!

| Peters should ask the coach of the year how to win things……oh hang on.You win 3 trophy’s and don’t get it instead it goes to a midget whose team bottles it in big occasions…since rovers beat Wigan the cup semi…Wigan have won ever trophy available and rovers are still 40 yrs waiting

| Odd to think that one of Wigan's rare defeats this year came at the hands of our useless shower!
How on earth did that afternoon pan out the way it did? It's still a surreal result from both sides of view!!

About as accurate as your prediction that the only 10k attendance we'll get next year will be the derby.

| Do feel sorry for kr fans skipping meals to go to old Trafford.
Kr did give it a good dig but they really do need an organiser if they’re ever going to win a trophy.
Thankfully we wont have our resident dobbins perched on here for a few months.

Yes, I'll concede that! I was holding back a feeling of intense schadenfreude. The wine (not Liebfraumilch I hasten to add) does taste particularity sweet tonight.
The next bit of comedy will be seeing how the latest temporary golf stand compliments the rest of the shabby chic carbuncle. Lipstick on a pig springs to mind
