| Quote: airliebird, runninglate! "Really really really dumb comments..
It's probably the toughest team sports game in the world. They unless the very top end don't earn much at all if you weigh up they get about 10 years of earning potential
I lived with a player few yrs back who was playing 1st grade whilst still on his youth contract. Less than 20 k. Missed his 18th. Missed family weddings. Missed most his mates and family bday nights out for games and training. Used to force feed himself to get the size on required and get in bed as a youngster at 8 o clock every night
Then end of the yr whilst back in reserve grade got snapped back in a tackle and had to have 2 operations on 1 ankle and 1 on the other knee.
Couldnt get around for about 6 weeks and had to live downstairs
Then come the next season he was ready after slogging himself to fitness. Played the yr still on peanuts he injured his other ankle and required surgery on that. He was 20 and had 3 oppertains
A story like loads of players. Who'll be limping and hobbling around in their retirement years. Many of whom at 30 odd will have to find real world jobs for the 1st time as all they'll have done is rugby because a lot/most will not have earned remotely enough to retire
So yeah its just like driving a lorry
Great post. it might be a dream job to a lot on here but it's a hard job as far as professional sport goes. Unlike top footballers can anyone seriously begrudge these lads there wage. Rugby isn't just a job for most players it's a passion and way of life. The fact a lot of pro's spend their time off coaching youth and open age amateur teams proves their love for the game

| Quote: Trojan Horse "Kelly been charged for the high tackle directly before got turned over and hull got penalty taking them downfield for their try to win.
Shame the ref missed it and as it transpires it ended up being a big miss by the ref with hull scoring off the next set.
Think Ashurst was in a bad way by sounds of it. Hopefully he's alright, very underrated. But if luck going your way that.
Enjoyed the game though, two forwards going at it all game.'"
To be honest I'm surprised Washbrook, Houghton and the rest of the team weren't called up, your fans seemed ok after the match, but since then you have become right moaners, it seems all our points came from ref errors, players punching Wakey players, only Hull milking penalties and blatant cheating, Wakey playing champagne rugby while Hull just played one man rugby.
The ref made mistakes for both sides but we were just a bit better or smarter to take advantage, no mention of Grix elbow, very dodgy try and Finn doing what Houghton did (but that doesn't count as it wasn't in front of the sticks)
I hope Ashurst is ok and I'm sure Kelly will get some punishment, but you fans are quickly becoming the most biased in the game.
Maybe it's the poor view from the ground.

| That's the obvious move, other option is to play Carlos there, Fonua Centre and bring back Michaels, but I'd go for Connor at 6.

| He's a natural ball player with a bit of mongrel in him.
Kelly would be a miss, but being able to bring someone like Connor in is a massive plus.

Seems to be a re-accuring thing each season when we beat them. We were cheating/offside/best team lost/hard done too
Last year when leaving a Wakey fan said four of our tries shouldn't have been allowed in the regular round match lol

No leave Carlos at centre.Didnt see a lot of him in attack at Wakefield but his defence alongside Kelly and workrate was immense.
Having now watched the full match replay we looked fit, were composed all match apart from a couple of penalties and great goal line defence.
Wakefield will turn a few teams over at home this season.

I think that's the best option and agree about Wakey, they are a good side, who will beat a lot of the top sides especially at home, recruited really well.

| Wakeys recruitment has been pretty astute. Think they'll trouble a lot of teams at home this year.
All things considered - a good win

Don't think you read my post correctly. It's called a play on words that I can't bother to explain to you , just keep jumping to ludicrous conclusions. Radford master stroke, bench and substitution. I see you haven't apologised after saying "we'll see tomorrow" but you'll probably come back with something quite banal, something like "Connor just dropped on the ball dummy", heyho, onwards and upwards.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| The Grix try he got down first time. Wakey highlights (camera behind sticks) show this. Radford was very wrong there.
Kelly basically knocked adhurst out with an arm to the face (in front of the ref) causing him to lose the ball and go off with bad concussion. Ref allowed play on and hull got a penalty. That was a shocking miss from the ref only metres from it. There's a slow motion highlights showing first contact square with Ashursts face. This is not up for debate and led to the winning try.
It's all over and fair do's both teams earned something from that but to lose off the back of a player being concussed with a head shot is pretty bitter pill to swallow. Along with the questionable offsides for your last try. One of which was stood in front of bjb waiting for the kick almost as soon as snyd kicked it.
I don't begrudge hull the win at all btw. Whoever won it was hard earned. The decisive try coming from not a small but a massive referee error in front of his face is a bit of a bitter pill to swallow that's all and is just the wakey luck.
I don't like to see this creeping in at the ptb either and hopefully it's stamped out.
Probably a good tough game which will put both teams on a good track for the coming games.

Michaels was carried off with a head injury at York tonight, Under 23's took full York first team close and Litten had a blinder!

And it continues, how do you know that Kelly high tackle cost you the game, there was 15 mins left, anything could have happened, unless you can see into the future, grix elbowed Griffin in front of the touch judge, Wakey got the pen, this along with a few other dubious calls, but you weren't good to to take advantage, you could have still stopped the try.
The moaning and bias from you and fans is laughable, the latest are Kelly was offside all game and every ( yes every) tackle he did was head high.
You need to except it and move on that you lost fair and square and wasn't quite good enough on the day, you should do well this year and on another day you might have won, if you had been a bit smarter.
