Yes, times are good and we have reasons to be optimistic. A promising young coach, an energised owner and an elite academy - the only one within sixty miles.

Same as Craig Sandercock was the future of elite coaching in the city according to you. It must be exhausting creating these terminally unfulfilled jam tomorrow scenarios in your head even with a full decade+ of good experience, but still, on a gorgeous sunny day after a big Rovers win you're camped out here at midnight, crying for your dreams to be heard. It must be painful after all the late Morgan era peacocking that ultimately led to relegation, but creeping about on here like a spooky clown goading us after a beating winless Leigh is a pretty good indicator of how much rent free headspace of yours we occupy.
I think we all know you'll be spending the Bank Holiday writing some critical assessments of our defeat to the champions in the cup ready to send on Saturday. You've got to be in it to win it of course, so that leaves you with little else to think about next weekend but you could always listen to some folky dirges instead

Maybe you could remind us all just how is that 5 year plan coming along that Peacock kept going on about?
Quite honestly I’m not that interested in how Rovers are doing or not. I’m pleased we have an owner that wants to invest in the club, we have a new coach that has done a good job so far in getting more out of a group of players than the previous coaches and who has yet to bring in any other signings bar Reynolds and we have been granted an elite academy licence.
So whilst the last couple of results haven’t been as good as we’d hoped the future is certainly bright.

As Liam Watts said, when he was at Hull the goal was to win a trophy. When he was at Rovers the goal was to beat Hull.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |

If you mean there's no relegation this year, nothing I'm aware of has been announced yet.

I think he means that Rovers won't be involved in a relegation battle, rather than there will be no relegation this year. I understand they're planning an open top bus tour to celebrate.

I cannot see either of our sides being in contention for the top four places in the league. After recent seasons I’m sure we’d be happy for a 6th - 9th spot. To win anything a team has to beat the top sides. FC are in 5th have played the four teams above them and not won a match.

Of course Hull FC are in contention for the top four - although I'm not sure why you made that the benchmark rather than the more relevant top six.
The top three is probably cut and dried unless one of Saints, Wigan or Catalans collapses for some reason. Warrington are as unpredicatable as we are. Worth pointing out that they've not played Wigan or Saints yet and they've been beaten by Cas and Huddersfield.

Great to see isn't it? Sounds like Toulouse have strong infrastructure and development pathways too. Maybe in the future they will run an elite academy
"Among those advantages is a pathway setup that boasts 19 teams including women’s and wheelchair teams, as well as a schools programme involving 2,000 children within the city.
Toulouse have 400 registered players across their teams, from under five to their reserve grade side that compete in the French Elite 1 competition."

Excited about what Toulouse are doing. Sounds like they’d be a great addition to the Super League. Always thought they should have got the 12th spot for this season.
Without Covid, they’d have been a better venue for this Saturday’s semi final too.
