Never said he would dictate play. He will give much needed leadership, which I was replying to. And he does have an excellent offload

Well at least Sandycock has made Hudge happy, winning the only game that really matters to him.

I am by no means a Hull FC fan; I see maybe five games a year at the KC since moving to the city five years ago. Every time I watch Hull I'm amazed that they always seem rudderless, without any shape or anything approaching a gameplan. There seems to be very little progress; has there been any improvement in the team in the last five years? I would say no.

On a separate note, O'Meley is a pathetic shadow of the wrecking ball I used to watch week in, week out in Australia. He is embarrassing himself and the shirt.

Most disappointing thing for me in the last 5 or 6 years is, for whatever reason, our inability to field our best players for even 50% of games. Coaches come and go but to be honest I'm sick to the back teeth of long term injuries to key players. It's a recurring nightmare.

As for today Rich Horne and Rich Whiting take a bow. The rest was just a big disappointment. Please don't let anyone call for Lynch to be dropped again - if you do that you get what we saw today. Neither Johnson or Pitts are big enough as props and when played at the same time it's a disaster.

We were gash, they were better, simple as. I actually wasn't that surprised by our performance, I've sat in my seat and watched a lot if e this season and seasons passed. I was surprised that rovers were as creative as they were without Dobson though, where is our strength in depth in that department!

Horne and whiting were only stand ours as even half decent today (plus arundels break which was a beautiful piece of running). Whiting obviously struggled with his position but he at least grafted.

I thought Danny Houghton posed a constant threat to us to be fair.

Really?

He saw plenty of the ball but constantly took the wrong option. Disappointed with Houghton today.

I was initially quite pleased with his promotion to vice-captain but his enforced captaincy is not working.

Haven't bothered with the previous umpteen pages of bile.
IMHO, Rovers deserved the win. But courtesy of FC being completely cluless!

As is the form, FC are absolutely devoid of guile/ideas/creativity and thus Rover's poor defence wasn't tested. You had countless sets on our line and made nothing.

Even without our halves we can create - hence you lost.

Two mediocre teams on form, one was toothless and clueless? That team played in B and W - the fans that wore their colours also disappeared faster than a rat up a drainpipe.

that was my initial thoughts at the game today. will have to watch it back on my sky recording and see if the Hull fans who are disappointed with Houghton's performance are justified.

We were a complete shambles and much of the blame lies with the coach IMO. Where is the offloading, the backing up, the dummy runners? Why is our defensive line speed so poor? Why is our tackling technique poor? Why can't we defend our line? Why do we constantly turn the ball back inside? Why is our completion rate poor week after week? Why do we never get quick PTB's? Why are we constantly dominated in the tackle? Why are our last tackle plays so bad? Why do we have well paid professionals who seem incapable of passing the ball with speed and accuracy?

So many things that can be improved on no matter who takes the field but none of it happening

our 2 most consistent players in Houghton and whiting had shockers. westy well lets not go there been good this year don't play him there ever again please!!
Horne did the job asked of him but should of been at 7 from minute 1 not at fullback.
i got conned like a lot of others this year into eventually buying a pass and believing all the hype around this very average squad i like everyone else feel let down but what upsets me more is the fact they are not trying to get that offload off or pass the ball through hands and chance it. id rather that and lose then this 1 up drop off ball were doing.
i was given no confidence that things will get better this year by gentle on the radio after the game getting boring to hear him now about the players been to conservative and not doing things what they are on the training pitch well i am sorry but that's happened for 9 games now so i am sure its your job to drop them players who are not doing what is asked of them and bollocking them not been Mr nice guy. i have give the club my hard earned cash this year but i will not be giving them any more of my time i shall not be going again until things improve i know i sound depressed and i think i might be but i am passionate about this club and i am sick to death of the hype every year.
yes a 7 will help but it has to be the right one quick with a step and great kicking game one that when he hits a gap he int getting caught. in the squad at present id back briscoe lineham and Jason Crookes to go full length everyone else is either really slow or just average speed.

Well, unless the coach is telling the players not to do those things, I cannot see how we can blame a coach when they don’t do them.

Most if not all those things should be done without the need of any coach instructing them. If there was no coach at all for the team, they should still naturally be done, and with good effect.
