| When Todd Byrne was here and got his injury, he used the club's automatic Chrysler. As this was loaned to the club and not to a player, he just used it whilst he couldnt operate gears, how can they put a valuation on that?

In the eyes of the tax man, unless the car is stored / parked at a company address for the majority of the time, it cannot be classed as a pool car. If its not a pool car, its a taxable benefit to the employee who uses it.

True, its not for the want of trying, and Wire own their ground and recently spent £2.5mill expanding it.
Maybe the Cap in Sl needs looking at, maybe £2mill or 50% of income whichever is lower

the club's themselves set the salary cap, and they've decided to fix at 1.6m
Last thing it needs at the moment is an increase or we'll end up with a four team superleague

agree 100%, people only want a change because they perceive AP to be ready to thrown his own money away, season on season, believe me, he isn't daft, he may well speculate to accumulate, but he would walk away if it became unviable, you don't get to where AP is by maintaining a failing business out of your own pocket*
Grudge, you might want to think about that.

I would tend to agree with the latter although I know that times are hard. The current cap means that everyone is equal and although the Dicks on Sky extol that ad infernitum, in the old days when some team were rich and some poor then there was always a big headline when the latter beat the former and it was certainly more newsworthy than most results are today there was a real seige mentality amongst the supporters of the smaller Clubs. . I also think that as was the case at Bradford there is little incentive to increase your income to get a better team. With a cap linked to 50% of a teams turn over it would encourage enterprise and encourage Clubs to increase their turnover and thus their gates and their viability it would also ensure that fans knew that the bigger numbers they turned up in the more that Club could spend. Whilst being lauded as making everyone equal I am not sure whether that is the best thing myself and that perhaps the curent system of everyone playing to the same Cap celebrates mediocrity. Just my thoughts of course and they certainly won't suit everyone.

| So, is Galloway a straight swap with Briscoe? As was rumoured back when it first came out?

Agree having the 50% and £2mill (for example) would push teams to increase t/o to £4 mill. which is realistic in SL. Wires t/o is £6+mill

They released accounts a month or so ago, they lost £200k, but bear in mind they laid out £2.5m for the extentions.
I'll try and get a link

Interesting to see the council own 16% of the club
