Some people seriously need to start seperating RL (rugby league) from RL (real life) otherwise there's going to be a serious shortage of rocking chairs in years to come.
Does anyone seriously believe that there would have been any real interest in either of these cases if FC and KR weren't involved?
Two drunks in a fight in the west Riding and "just another domestic" wouldn't have caught your eye, especially as HDM wouldn't have done a 4 page spread.
And why didn't they do a 4 page spread on the last poor lass that got beaten by her husband or the young kid on trolley in (insert any town) hospital?
Because they DON'T CARE!
All they care about is 'good copy'. An FC or KR player in the cakc is meat to their gravy. Ditto in other towns i shoudn't wonder
All that's happening now is that Rovers fans are over-reacting to the overly defensive FC fans who overreacted last week to the overly defensive Rovers fans!
Cause and effect!
FC's turn last week, Rovers this.
It's the same way the good banter works: I know full well that as soon as I wind someone up at work it will be only a matter of time before I cop some back because Rovers stuff up for me (Warrington, cheers lads)
Letters to HDM and the RFL, texts and emails to radio humberside, Holier than thou, you're thug's thuggier than our thug etcetera et bleeding cetera
Meanwhile, the world moves on and the rest of the rugby world smiles in amusement as our two clubs fans knock lumps off each other.
I always say good can come from bad and if nothing else it might make people think twice before they jump from their soapbox to their high horse.

Top post. I deal with domestic violence in my job day in day out and none reach the paper, I also deal and see ( yes witness ) acts of thuggery every weekend in Hull and only the most serious make the press. |

at the end of the day they have a job to do on the pitch. like any other job, leave your personal problems at the door, do what you have to do.
i'm not condoning what reardon did but on the pitch why should it matter? he's a decent player and god knows we need them right now! |

We do not know this yet..it is done now so maybe we need to see how he goes..one thing is for sure he is an experienced full- back, aparently he has kept on top of his fitness so this maybe the change he needs to get his game and life back on track.. |

I am not condoning what he did. Terrible, breaking into somebody's home and assaulting them, maybe the RL should look into punishing players in the game. But until this happens we need to jump at any opportunity to sign decent players because we don't seem to be able to in regular circumstances. But what the guy did was not as bad as what Cokayne did so a custodial sentence is very very unlikely.
