Agreed, but I think his appointment demonstrates the positive side of the franchising arrangements. I have no doubt we'd have brought in another highly paid dour Aussie if there was the threat of relegation, but longer term security takes away that pressure and I think it's a brave move.

I agree there's nothing he can do this season, but we've got 8 players OOC with undecided futures - plenty of room here for Agar to start to build his own squad either in terms of retention or replacement.

Good move as he is a good, young, British coach. He did wonders at York befor joining you lot.

How many available British props could do a better job,than Carvell King and Thackray?

To be fair, the word available is erroneous, there are few top quality British forward kicking around.

That was at York,the jump from NL to Super League is massive.

Gone from bing a little disapointed when I the news to thinking its the best option.Will hopefully push us forward , Knows the players so will have a good idea on player retention already and should know our weeknesses.

Maybe thats the reason he's got the job. He wont rock the boat with the board when it comes to who he wants to sign.

How people can be happy and glad at the appointment of two untried and inexperienced coaches is beyond me - why not go the full hog and start signing semi pro players from West Hull etc!
