| Quote Mrs Barista="Mrs Barista"Berrigan's not really delivered world class performances over the last 3 seasons, so I don't expect him to next season. Yes, there have been plenty of mitigating circumstances, mainly injuries to him and others. Yes, there have been far worse signings whilst I've been a supporter. Yes, things would have been even worse in 2008 and 2009 without him. But unless something startling happens next year, I'd imagine many will look at his big reputation when signed and £600,000 over four years and feel a bit disappointed.'"
It's not even the money we've paid him, it's the fact we've seen nothing of the world class player he undoubtedly was/is, which has been a massive disappointment for me. Best option for both parties for me would be to release him from the final year of his contract and let him find a club in Oz where he can be in a more comfortable environment with his family

| I`d get rid of Berrigan . Use his spot and money for a decent halfback.
He doesn`t look interested.

i agree.but would he accept a reasonable pay-off?? plus,we then have to find a replacement.

Don't think he needs a pay off. With the shift in the exchange rates he could easily get a 2 or 3 year contract in Oz earning what we're paying him.
Replacement would be an issue but I'm more inclined to try and bring a quality player in and live with maybe washbrook covering hooker for a season

Why is it? It's a reasonable strategy to let a player who is suffering some personal issues to move back to his own country whilst allowing us to use the money to strengthen a more important area of the team.
I'll admit it's unlikely, but certainly worth discussing

| If I had the say on whether Berro should stay or go I would release him. I would use the money to sign another hooker but a cheaper one and use the additional cash to strengthen the halfbacks.
That said I think it's harsh for people to jump on him. He has just come back from injury and then lost his father, his head will be in pieces right now and he is probably desperate to get hom to his family and be with them for a while.
He is nowhere near his best right now but the effort is still there. The only way he will not be here next season is if he decides he has to go home for family reasons which will be his call. It could be the best thing for both sides but I certainly do not subscribe to the 'get rid' attitude which seems to be creeping in.

Correct !! We've had three seasons of less than marquee quality from Berrigan and this has been massively highlighted by the arrival of two REAL quality marquee signings from Oz. The length of his contract is now really proving to be a mistake by the club and hampering our ability to take our squad further forwards.
To call it "nonsense" is more than pathetic but at least the spelling was correct for a change. WELL DONE !
