It shows there is little strategy in what the club are doing when they sign the PNG full back when we have Moy,Walker,Litten and Hardaker who can also play there and then are linked with the PNG hooker when we have Smith.Balmforth and several forwards like Lane who can play there whilst screaming out for a halfback and centre

More than linked with we agreed to sign Rimbu the PNG hooker according to press reports. At the time we only had Balmforth as a specialist hooker and arguably Smith so we needed another one. That fell through for whatever reason and we signed Bourouh a couple of weeks later. Since then we have signed Cust who is slated to play Hooker which baffles me as he has hardly played there. I wouldn't be surprised if Cust will be the halfback we need with Charles and Smith as back ups.

If Cust and Abdul can stay fit I think it could be a pretty decent half back combo. I think Cust will surprise a few this year. But i know chances of them both staying fit are slim unless Cartrights fitness regime sorts can sort them both out

Let4ing trueman go was a calculated risk that I agree with. He's barely played half the games we've had and not been great when he has played. Maybe the taking stock comment means we'll use cust as a half back and switch to looking for a decent hooker which, imo is as important as a half back in terms of the team. Lam was playing for leigh and they struggled until ipape and asisata came back and now they're flying

More worrying than the result for me today was again how many passholders of 10plus even 20 years staying away. We always lose a few during summer holidays but some must have been on a round the world cruise they've been gone that long.

The worry is then income drops so the clubs decides to cut the budget...and we're in a spiral we can't get out of

Gentle was forced out, Radford struggled until the leaders in the dressing room shut him out at Widnes and gave the squad a boot up the...after a golden spell we were back not being bothered at the end of seasons again a couple of years later.

The players performed for Last but that was a short spell in a bonkers season. They then didn't perform for Hodgson and Smith.

So yes Grix could be better but these problems are over a decade deep now.
