Quote: Mark Laurie "Ellis, minichello, washbrook, Hadley, Manu, Pritchard, whiting, downs, fash, turgut and jordan Thompson and maybe abdull I reckon most of fc salary cap must be going on back rowers? It's no wonder there is no coin left. You don't really need Westerman. The question is will you sell him to wire or help us replace Sinfield? I reckon you have got best back row in the league with all that lot.'"

You need a back rower we need a centre. Westerman for Watkins icon_smile.gif

Hardly relevant though, is it? We're talking about season passes, not pass holders that decided not to turn up. Or are you honestly worried that these supposed 2,000 won't get a pass?

It's a really kind offer but might have to pass on that one. Cheers. How about Achurch for old man ellis? Even though Redford could play a few of those 12 I mentioned at prop, Westerman must be going somewhere as no point having 6 of them watching from stands. I think you need to keep faith in Radford. Reminds me of McDermott and Cunningham, good honest man trying to build something. He has not had the advantages of McDermott, like Sinfield , McGuire, burrow - 10 years of experience running the show. However, the cycle turns and ours may be coming to an end. We had 20 odd years without winning when we kept changing and spending etc. got success when we finally starting building from within. Trust Abdull and the others

Mcdermott learnt his trade under Tony Smith,as did Cunningham under Nathan Brown,

Radford hasnt had that vital tutelage under an experienced Head Coach..

Pearson hasnt afforded Radford that luxury.

It's a fair point. Maybe an old experienced guy to give advice may be way to go. Like sheens at salford. I just think it takes time and chopping and changing all time does not work. All the different halves hull have had over last 10-12 years compared to leeds having the same 3. I'm not close to it but he strikes me as a guy trying to do the right things. It is a big job as first one though - totally agree. With Abdull and turgut though and possibly Tyson-wilson( not seen him) you could have 3 for next 10 years. Last thing you need is to bring in an Aussie coach who signs 2 nrl talented bad lads and off you go again

Personally,I feel he needs either an attack coach, or an older head, or both.

The owner isnt doing him any favours, regarding coaching staff.

Quote: Mild mannered Janitor "No, a nothing game, is nothing to do with the coach at all.

The position of the team in the league is not solely down to Radford. The facts of the matter are, there are better teams with better players in the league. Wayne Bennett would not have turned our squad into world beaters. Certainly towards the end of the season when we had a significant amount of injuries, we were stretched to the max. Were the injuries the coaches fault?

The games against Hudds and Cats at the end of the Super 8's held nothing of interest to Hull FC. That's nothing to do with Radford or anyone else who may have been in charge if it were not Radford.

In a similar way, I would not feel the need to attend a pre season friendly game. There is nothing really at stake.

I didn't attend as there was nothing of interest in the game and I invest a significant amount of time and travel into each home game I attend.

We do not have a given right to be at the top end of the league, especially when there are better squads with less injuries. It would appear some have not been around the block with Hull FC enough times to realise this.'"

How long did McDermott spend under Smith, how did he put this tutelage into practice at London?

Radfords spent time with Noble, Mcrea and Gentle. Not one Hull fan can't think of a coach they'd rather have but we don't have to bend things to suit our argument.

Quote: *1865* "Too many haven't got the patience, unfortunately.'"

I don't think it's just about lack of patience now for some fans but also a lack of trust in the club. We've been on a steady decline for about 10 years now from a time when we looked like we could have been on the verge of something special (two Top 4 finishes between 2004 and 2007 and 5th the other seasons) but despite this decline the club has always promised "jam tomorrow" during this period. Fans are (rightly or wrongly) running out of patience and want their jam today. Personally I think that with the signings we have made for next season and our up and coming youngsters that we could actually see the club deliver something pretty exciting in the near future.

The problem is that once people are losing patience they're starting to question the clubs actions be it coaching appointments, the academy merger etc. Just look at the divisive takes on the state of our finances in this thread. It's gotten to a point now where some have just lost complete faith in the club and don't believe anything that AP has to say.

I mentioned earlier that I think we could be in for something pretty exciting soon. I'm still not convinced that Radford is the man to be leading us and deliver on the potential I see (in fact he's very lucky to still be in a job IMO after winning only five matches from June onwards) but we've built him "his" team for next year and hopefully he can prove me wrong. Personally, I think we lack (and have done for quite some time) experience in the coaching ranks so I'd be all for someone coming into the club in a similar way to Sheens at Salford to help him out. Either that or an attacking coach added to our ranks.

Quote: *1865* "No, I'm saying i'm not aware of any, but will happily bow to knowledge of any substantial eveidence. (relevant costs only please)

Yes you did, it's also complete nonsense figures as it won't happen. Anything you say to the contrary goes against what Pearson said himself about there being 8,000 'hardcore' and is no more than a hypothetical rumour! AKA scaremongering.

Who realistically thinks the club is going under? If it was even a remote possibility, do you think he'd have sanctioned the Pritchard/Manu deals?

If people are happy to be emotionally blackmailed in to supporting the club, that's fine. I'd rather the product on the field was the reason I went.'"

It really isn't a nonsense figure. You asked how many fans would it take to lose £500k of income and I gave you that figure. IT really is that simple and not nonsense.

You again fail spectacularly to see the bigger picture. Elements of the support base of the club has indicated its either backing off or is undecided as to how much it will commit to for next season. The owner, with already signed players is rightly concerned about how income will cover the contracted costs.

You then quote comments about "emotional blackmail", yet you are happy to believe the owner's claim of 8000 hardcore fans.

Make your mind up, other wise this circle will never end icon_wink.gif

Quote: Jake the Peg "I'm surprised an accountant is ignoring VAT and you've also forgotten about the income sharing with the SMC so a more realistic drop in income for your scenario would be 150-200k. I appreciate that this doesn't include a likely drop off in additional income from shop sales etc.

Interesting that you didn't attend games which you saw as dead rubbers. I'd counter that and suggest that if you'd gone to the KC this season and enjoyed watching us play there you'd have gone to those games irrespective of whether they had any real meaning or not. We saw a drop off in people coming to games way before we even made the 8 and those games weren't meaningless. Other than 2 or 3 games at home (not all of which we won), we were awful to watch and there was a high probability of defeat at home which is why people stopped going IMO'"

Season passes are for sale at prices of up to £260, I used a broad brush figure of £200, that would account for VAT.

The SMC costs is exactly that, it would not affect the top line.

Regarding your comment in bold. That's your opinion and that's fair enough. Its not mine though. I saw no real reason to attend those last two games so when I had other offers of thing to do, I chose not to attend (despite having a season pass). As I mentioned earlier, I dont attend friendlies as a rule as they are nothing games, a little like the Hudds and Cats games.

Unfortunately most of our good performances came away from home.
