1 point behind, still in the cup, much better attack. Think i know which position i would rather be in.

But the teams you talk about have decent half backs. We are desperate for another pivot, at least if we cant get the 6 and 7 right.
Fitz is a prop. Thats the game he plays. He's played prop, 2nd row and 13 for Oz. He plays down the middle channel as a 3rd prop for us, exactly the same role as Radford when he plays there. (although 100x better)

And? You've had planning permission for the North Stand redevelopment for a whole lot longer than that.

[quote="Wellsy13":1juz9zgo]To us REAL fans, there's no better feeling than winning competitions. Getting to a final is next. Then a top 6 finish or semi-final appearance. Then I suppose the derby counts as the most important league fixture.
Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.
Quite sad, really! [/quote:1juz9zgo]

So who would you play at 13? Washbrook? So you'd leave Hame out I'm guessing? (e.g. Fitz to 2nd row, manu to bench?)
What about Bradford? They have no decent half backs and still play a battering ram at 13. Ask Huddersfield fans how they feel about having so many pivots in there team...

| The game has moved on. Who do Australia or Queensland play at LF?
The point Agar is making is correct and sensible. You can't survive in the modern game with more than 2 half back type players on the field, in defence or going forward. Very few players can mix the physical needs with the ball playing bit. Greg Bird is one that springs to mind but he's still more a runner/off-loader than a pivot.
The issue for us is not LF, it is having a coherent pair of proper half backs.

In an ideal world i'd play
1. Tansey
6. Horne
7. Long
9. Houghton
13. Whiting
Based on this seasons form.
With our current injuries i'd simply replace Long with Washy.

Fair point about the game moving on. I appreciate it's not just Hull that take the approach. Sadly for me it's an approach i dont agree with and i dont think it's to the benefit of our game to play 3 props and encourage boring safety first rugby.
If thats the direction the sport is taking i can see spectator numbers dropping over the coming years to stay at home and watch paint dry.... and save £20 per game too.

But they don't have much problem getting over the line do they?
I don't think our problem is getting up to the line, it is just that we seem clueless when we get there. It was the same last season even with a poorer pack.
If we are weak in the pivots, then why not have an extra pivot at 13?
At least it makes us less predictable to defend against.
